O Allah, do not make my grave an idol that is worshiped
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, do not make my grave an idol that is worshiped. Allah cursed the people who took the graves of their prophets as places of worship."
Those are a people who, when a righteous slave or a righteous man from among them dies, they build a place of worship
‘Ā’ishah, the Mother of the Believers, (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: ’Umm Salamah mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) that she had seen a church in Abyssinia called Māriyah, and she mentioned the images that she had seen therein. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those are a people who, when a righteous slave or a righteous man from among them dies, they build a place of worship over his grave and place those images therein. Those are the most evil people in the sight of Allah."
Straighten your rows, for indeed, straightening the row is from the perfection of the prayer
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Straighten your rows, for indeed, straightening the row is from the perfection of the prayer."
Do not take my grave as a place of festivity (which you visit repeatedly), and do not take your houses as graves. Send blessings upon me, for your greeting will reach me no matter where you are
‘Ali ibn al-Husayn reported that he saw a man entering through a gap at the grave of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and making supplication therein. He told him not to do that and said: "Shall I not tell you a Hadīth that I heard from my father from my grandfather from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: "Do not take my grave as a place of festivity (which you visit repeatedly), and do not take your houses as graves. Send blessings upon me, for your greeting will reach me no matter where you are."
Whoever passes through any of our mosques or markets with arrows with him, he should hold them by their heads lest he injures any of the Muslims with them
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever passes through any of our mosques or markets with arrows with him, he should hold them by their heads (blades) lest he injures any of the Muslims with them."
If you had been from this city, I would have inflicted pain on you. You raise your voices in the Prophet's Mosque
As-Sā'ib ibn Yazīd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I was in the mosque when a man threw a pebble at me. I looked and it was ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: "Go and bring me these two." So I brought them to him. He said: "Where are you from?" They said: "From the people of Taif." He said: "If you had been from this city, I would have inflicted pain on you. You raise your voices in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him)."
Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it.”
I have not been ordered to build lofty mosques
Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have not been ordered to build lofty mosques." Ibn ‘Abbās added: "You will surely adorn them as the Jews and Christians did (with their synagogues and churches)."
He who builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him the like of it in Paradise.'
Mahmūd ibn Labīd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: 'Uthmān ibn' Affān (may Allah be pleased with him) wanted to build the mosque, but the people did not like this idea, and they wished that he should keep it as it was. Thereupon, he said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'He who builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him the like of it in Paradise.'"
A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers anywhere else, except for the Sacred Mosque
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers anywhere else, except for the Sacred Mosque."
When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him offer two Rak‘ahs before he sits down
Abu Qatādah as-Salami (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him offer two Rak‘ahs before he sits down."
When any of you enters the mosque, let him say: 'Allahumma iftah li abwāba rahmatik' (O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy). And when he leaves, let him say: 'Allahumma inni as’aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty)
Abu Humayd or Abu Usayd reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of you enters the mosque, let him say: 'Allahumma iftah li abwāba rahmatik' (O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy). And when he leaves, let him say: 'Allahumma inni as’aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty)."
While the people were performing the Fajr prayer in Qubā' Mosque, someone came saying: Tonight, (a portion of the) Qur'an was revealed to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he was ordered to face the Qiblah, so face it.
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: While the people were performing the Fajr prayer in Qubā' Mosque, someone came saying: "Tonight, (a portion of the) Qur'an was revealed to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), and he was ordered to face the Qiblah, so face it." Their faces were turned toward the Levant, so they turned towards the Ka‘bah.
A Bedouin came and urinated in a corner of the mosque
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a Bedouin came and urinated in a corner of the mosque. So, the people rebuked him. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) stopped them and when he finished urinating, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that a bucket of water should be poured over that place, and they did so.
Straighten your rows, or Allah will cause dissension amongst you
An-Nu‘mān ibn Bashīr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Straighten your rows or Allah will cause dissension amongst you.'' In another narration: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to straighten our rows, as if he was straightening arrows, until he saw that we had learned it from him. One day he came out, stood for prayer and was about to say 'Allah Akbar' (to start the prayer) when he saw a man whose chest was bulging out from the row. So he said: 'Slaves of Allah, either you straighten your rows or Allah will cause dissension amongst you.'"
O Banu Salimah, stay in your neighborhood, your footsteps are recorded for you; stay in your neighborhood, your footsteps are recorded for you
Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The tribe of Banu Salimah wanted to move nearer to the mosque. On learning this, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "I was told that you intend to move nearer to the mosque." They said: "That is true, O Messenger of Allah, we want to." He said: "O Banu Salimah, stay in your neighborhood, your footsteps (to the mosque) are recorded for you; stay in your neighborhood, your footsteps (to the mosque) are recorded for you." Another narration reads: "Every footstep (towards the mosque) merits one higher rank."
The deeds of my Ummah, the good and the bad thereof, were presented to me. I found the removal of harm from the road among their good deeds, and the spittle in a mosque that was not buried among their bad deeds
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deeds of my Ummah, the good and the bad thereof, were presented to me. I found the removal of harm from the road among their good deeds, and the spittle in a mosque that was not buried among their bad deeds."
The places that are dearest to Allah are the mosques, and the places that are most hateful to Allah are the marketplaces
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The places that are dearest to Allah are the mosques, and the places that are most hateful to Allah are the marketplaces."
These mosques are not appropriate for anything of this kind of urine or filth. They are only for the remembrance of Allah Almighty, prayer, and recitation of the Qur’an
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: While we were in the mosque with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), a Bedouin came and began to urinate in the mosque. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: Stop! Stop! He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not interrupt him; let him." So they left him until he finished urinating. Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) called him and said to him: "These mosques are not appropriate for anything of this kind of urine or filth. They are only for the remembrance of Allah Almighty, prayer, and recitation of the Qur’an" or as the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said. He said: Then he ordered a man from among the people who brought a bucket of water and poured it over the affected area.
A man announced (the loss of his camel) in the mosque, saying out loud: Has any one seen the red camel? Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: May you not find it! The mosques are only built for the purpose they are built
Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man announced (the loss of his camel) in the mosque, saying out loud: "Has any one seen the red camel?" The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to build mosques in different localities and that they should be kept clean
‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to build mosques in different localities and that they should be kept clean and perfumed.
I implore you by Allah (to tell me) if you heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Answer on my behalf. O Allah, aid him with the Holy Spirit. He said: By Allah, yes
Abu Hurayrah reported that ‘Umar happened to pass by Hassān (may Allah be pleased with him) as he was reciting verses of poetry in the mosque. He (‘Umar) looked at him (meaningfully). Upon which, Hassān said: "I used to recite poetry (in the presence) of one better than you (the Prophet). He then looked at Abu Hurayrah and said to him: "I implore you by Allah (to tell me) if you heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saying: '(Hassān) answer on my behalf. O Allah, aid him with the Holy Spirit (Jibrīl).’” He (Abu Hurayrah) said: “By Allah, yes (I did).”
Whoever hears a man inquiring in the mosque about something he has lost should say: "May Allah not restore it to you," for indeed mosques are not built for this

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you see someone buying or selling in the mosque, say to him: 'May Allah not make your sale profitable!' And when you see someone announcing a lost item in the mosque, then say: 'May Allah not return it to you!'"
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you see someone buying or selling in the mosque, say to him: 'May Allah not make your sale profitable!' And when you see someone announcing a lost item in the mosque, then say: 'May Allah not return it to you!'"
Leave them, for these are the days of Eid. Those were the days of Mina
‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that during the days of Mina, Abu Bakr came to her while there where two girls with her; they were beating drums, and the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was covering himself with his garment (while he was lying down). Abu Bakr rebuked the two girls, but the Prophet uncovered his face and said: "O Abu Bakr, leave them, for these are the days of Eid." Those were the days of Mina, ‘Ā’ishah added: "I was being screened by the Prophet while I was watching the Ethiopians playing in the Mosque." ‘Umar rebuked them, but the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave them, O Banu Arfida, play; it is safe."
The Hour will not be established until people boast about mosques
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until people boast about mosques."
لقد حجَّرت واسعًا
عَن أَبي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلاَةٍ وَقُمْنَا مَعَهُ، فَقَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ: اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي وَمُحَمَّدًا، وَلاَ تَرْحَمْ مَعَنَا أَحَدًا. فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِلْأَعْرَابِيِّ: «لَقَدْ حَجَّرْتَ وَاسِعًا» يُرِيدُ رَحْمَةَ اللهِ.
يا بني النجار ثامنوني بحائطكم هذا
عن أنس بن مالك قال: قدم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المدينة فنزل أعلى المدينة في حيٍّ يقال لهم بنو عمرو بن عوف، فأقام النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فيهم أربع عشرة ليلة، ثم أرسل إلى بني النَّجَّار، فجاؤوا متقلدي السيوف، كأني أنظر إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على راحلته، وأبو بكر ردفه، وملأ بني النجار حوله حتى ألقى بفناء أبي أيوب، وكان يحب أن يصلي حيث أدركته الصلاة، ويصلي في مرابض الغنم، وأنه أمر ببناء المسجد، فأرسل إلى ملإ من بني النجار فقال: «يا بني النجار ثامنوني بحائطكم هذا»، قالوا: لا والله لا نطلب ثمنه إلا إلى الله. فقال أنس: فكان فيه ما أقول لكم قبور المشركين، وفيه خِرَبٌ، وفيه نخل، فأمر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بقبور المشركين، فنبشت، ثم بالخرب فسويت، وبالنخل فقطع، فصفوا النخل قبلة المسجد وجعلوا عضادتيه الحجارة، وجعلوا ينقلون الصخر وهم يرتجزون، والنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم معهم، وهو يقول: «اللهم لا خير إلا خير الآخره، فاغفر للأنصار والمهاجره».
من بنى مسجدًا لله كمَفْحَص قطاة، أو أصغر، بنى الله له بيتا في الجنة
عن جابر بن عبد الله أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "من بنى مسجدًا لله كمَفْحَص قطاة، أو أصغر، بنى الله له بيتا في الجنة".
The Prophet (ﷺ), when he performed the Fajr prayer, would remain seated in his prayer place until the sun rose brightly
Jābir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ), when he performed the Fajr prayer, would remain seated in his prayer place until the sun rose brightly. He said: He would not leave the spot where he prayed Fajr or the Morning prayer until the sun had risen. When the sun rose, he would stand up. During that time, the people would talk about matters from the pre-Islamic days of ignorance; they would laugh and he would smile.
لا تقبل صلاة لامرأة تطيبت لهذا المسجد حتى ترجع فتغتسل غسلها من الجنابة
عن أبي هريرة أنه لقيتْه امرأةٌ وجد منها ريحَ الطيب، ولِذَيلها إعصارٌ، فقال: يا أمة الجبار، جئتِ من المسجد؟ قالت: نعم. قال: وله تطيبتِ؟ قالت: نعم. قال: إني سمعت حبي أبا القاسم صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: "لا تقبل صلاة لامرأة تطيبت لهذا المسجد حتى ترجع فتغتسل غسلها من الجنابة".
Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from (going to) the mosques of Allah, but let them go out without perfume and unadorned
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from (going to) the mosques of Allah, but let them go out without perfume and unadorned."
صلاة المرأة في بيتها أفضل من صلاتها في حجرتها
عن عبد الله عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "صلاة المرأة في بيتها أفضل من صلاتها في حجرتها، وصلاتها في مخدعها أفضل من صلاتها في بيتها".
When any of you enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the Prophet and say: Allāhumma iftahli abwāba rahmatik (O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy)
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When any of you enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the Prophet and say: Allāhumma iftahli abwāba rahmatik (O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy). And when he leaves, let him send peace upon the Prophet and say: Allāhumma i‘simni min ash-shaytān ar-rajīm (O Allah, protect me from the accursed devil)." In another narration by Al-Hākim: "When he leaves, let him send peace upon the Prophet (ﷺ) and say: Allāhumma ajirni min ash-shaytān ar-rajīm (O Allah, save me from the accursed devil)."
مَن أكل مِن هذه الشجرة فلا يقربن مسجدنا، ولا يؤذينا بريح الثوم
عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «مَن أكل مِن هذه الشجرة فلا يقربن مسجدنا، ولا يؤذينا بريح الثوم».
من أكلهما فلا يقربن مسجدنا
عن فرة المزني أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن هاتين الشجرتين، وقال: "من أكلهما فلا يقربَنَّ مسجدنا" وقال: "إن كنتم لا بد آكليهما أميتوهما طبخًا" قال: يعني البصل والثوم.
كنا نأكل على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في المسجد الخبز واللحم
عن عبد الله بن الحارث بن جَزء الزَّبيدي يقول: كنا نأكل على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في المسجد الخبز واللحم.
ما أسرع ما نسي الناس، ما صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على سهيل ابن البيضاء إلا في المسجد
عن عائشة أنها أمرت أن يُمَرَّ بجنازة سعد بن أبي وقاص في المسجد، فتصلي عليه، فأنكر الناس ذلك عليها، فقالت: ما أسرع ما نسي الناس، ما صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على سُهَيل ابن البيضاء إلا في المسجد.
إن إبراهيم حرَّم مكة ودعا لأهلها، وإني حرمت المدينة كما حرم إبراهيم مكة
عن عبد الله بن زيد بن عاصم أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «إن إبراهيم حرَّم مكة ودعا لأهلها، وإني حرمت المدينة كما حرم إبراهيم مكة، وإني دعوت في صاعها ومدها بمثلي ما دعا به إبراهيم لأهل مكة».
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أمرنا ألا توصل صلاة بصلاة حتى نتكلم أو نخرج
عن عمر بن عطاء بن أبي الخُوَار أن نافع بن جبير أرسله إلى السائب ابن أخت نمِر يسأله عن شيءٍ رآه منه معاوية في الصلاة، فقال: نعم، صليت معه الجمعة في المقصورة، فلما سلم الإمام قمت في مقامي فصليت، فلما دخل أرسل إلي، فقال: لا تَعُدْ لما فعلت، إذا صليت الجمعة فلا تَصِلْها بصلاةٍ حتى تَكلَّم أو تخرج، فإن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أمرنا بذلك، ألَّا تُوصَل صلاةٌ بصلاة حتى نتكلم أو نخرج.
أن كعبًا تقاضى ابن أبي حَدْرَدٍ دينًا كان له عليه في المسجد
عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ تَقَاضَى ابْنَ أَبِي حَدْرَدٍ دَيْنًا كَانَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي المَسْجِدِ، فَارْتَفَعَتْ أَصْوَاتُهُمَا حَتَّى سَمِعَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِهِ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمَا حَتَّى كَشَفَ سِجْفَ حُجْرَتِهِ، فَنَادَى: «يَا كَعْبُ» قَالَ: لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: «ضَعْ مِنْ دَيْنِكَ هَذَا» وَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ: أَيِ الشَّطْرَ، قَالَ: لَقَدْ فَعَلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: «قُمْ فَاقْضِهِ».
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent some cavalry towards Najd. They captured a man from the tribe of Banu Hanīfah called Thumāmah ibn Uthāl, and tied him to one of the pillars of the mosque
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent some cavalry towards Najd. They captured a man from the tribe of Banu Hanīfah called Thumāmah ibn Uthāl, and tied him to one of the pillars of the mosque. Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went to him and said: "What do you think, Thumāmah?" He replied, "I have a good thought, O Muhammad! If you kill, you will kill someone with blood; if you do a favor, you will do a favor to a grateful person; and if you want money, then ask and you will be given whatever you wish." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) left him until the next day, and then said to him: "What do you think, Thumāmah? He said: "As I told you before: if you do a favor, you will do a favor to a grateful person; if you kill, you will kill a person with blood; and if you want money, then ask and you will be given whatever you wish." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) left him again until the following day and then said to him: "What do you think, Thumāmah?" He said: "I think what I have told you before: if you do a favor , you will do a favor to a grateful person; if you kill, you will kill a person with blood; and if you want money, then ask and you will be given whatever you wish." Thereupon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Release Thumāmah." Thereupon, he went to a place of water near the mosque, took a bath, and then entered the mosque and said: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. O Muhammad, by Allah! There was no face on the surface of the earth more hateful to me than yours; but now your face has become the most beloved of all faces to me. By Allah, there was no religion more hateful to me than yours; but now it is the most beloved religion to me. By Allah, there was no city more hateful to me than yours; but now it is the most beloved city to me. Your cavalry arrested me when I was intending to perform ‘Umrah. And now what do you think?" The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gave him glad tidings and ordered him to go and perform ‘Umrah. So, when he went to Mecca, someone said to him: "Have you apostatized?" Thumāmah replied: "No, by Allah! I have embraced Islam along with the Messenger of Allah. Behold, by Allah, no single grain of wheat will come to you from Yamāmah unless the Messenger of Allah gives his permission for it."
The prescribed corporal punishments are not to be carried out in mosques; nor should retribution be carried out in them
Hakīm ibn Hizām (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The prescribed corporal punishments are not to be carried out in mosques; nor should retribution be carried out in them."
Sa‘d was injured on the Day of the Trench by the arrow of man from Quraysh
‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: Sa‘d was injured on the Day of the Trench by the arrow of man from Quraysh called Hibbān ibn al-‘Arqah (Hibbān ibn Qays) from the tribe of Banu Mu‘ayyis ibn ‘Āmir ibn Lu'ai who shot him in the median vein of the arm. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) set up a tent for him in the mosque in order to visit him from nearby. When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) returned from the trench he placed his weapon down and washed up. Jibrīl (may peace be upon him) came to him while he was shaking the dust from his head and said: "Have you laid down weapons? By Allah! I have not laid it down! Go out to them!" The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where?" So he pointed to Banu Qurayzhah. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went to them and they surrendered. He turned the judgment over to Sa‘d, and Sa‘d said: "I rule that their warriors be killed, their women and offspring be taken as captives, and that their wealth be divided." Hishām said: "My father informed me that ‘Ā’ishah reported that Sa‘d said: 'O Allah, Indeed, You know that there is no one that I love to battle in Your cause than a people who belied and drove out Your Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). O Allah, I think that You have ended the war between us and them, so if there remains any war against the Quraysh, then keep me alive so that I may battle them in Your cause; and if You have indeed ended the war, then let the blood flow and make my death therein." So his wound erupted from his throat. There was a tent in the mosque belonging to Banu Ghifār, and they were scared at the sight of blood flowing towards them. They said: "O people of this tent, what is it that is coming to us from your side?" And Sa‘d's wound continued to bleed, and he died from it (may Allah be pleased with him). [Al-Bukhāri]
She used to visit me, and every time she came, she would say the following: The day of the scarf was one of the wonders of our Lord, for He rescued me from the disbelievers' town
‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that there was a black slave girl owned by an Arab tribe, and they set her free, but she remained with them. The slave girl said: "Once, one of their girls (of that tribe) came out wearing a red leather scarf decorated with precious stones. It fell from her or she placed it somewhere. A kite passed by that place, saw it lying there and thought it a piece of meat; so it flew away with it. People looked for it but did not find it. So they accused me of stealing it, and started searching me even my private part." The slave girl added: "By Allah! While I was standing (in that state) with those people, the same kite passed by them and dropped the red scarf, and it fell in front of them. I told them, "This is what you accused me of and I was innocent; and here it is." ‘Ā'ishah added: "That slave girl came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and embraced Islam." She had a tent or a small room with a low roof in the mosque. She used to visit me, and every time she came, she would say the following: "The day of the scarf was one of the wonders of our Lord, for He rescued me from the disbelievers' town. ‘Ā'ishah added: "Once, I asked her, "What is the matter with you? Every time you sit with me, you say these words." Then ‘Ā'ishah said: "so she told me the whole story."
أصلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في بيت المقدس؟
عن زِرِّ بن حُبَيش قال: قلتُ لحذيفة بن اليمان: أَصَلَّى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في بيت المقدس؟ قال: لا. قلت: بلى. قال: أنت تقول ذاك يا أصلع، بم تقول ذلك؟ قلت: بالقرآن، بيني وبينك القرآن. فقال حذيفة: مَن احتج بالقرآن فقد أفلح. -قال سفيان: يقول فقد احتج، وربما قال: قد فلج- فقال: {سبحان الذي أسرى بعبده ليلًا من المسجد الحرام إلى المسجد الأقصى}. قال: أَفَتَرَاه صلى فيه؟ قلت: لا. قال: لو صلى فيه لكُتب عليكم فيه الصلاة كما كُتبت الصلاة في المسجد الحرام. قال حذيفة: قد أتي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بدابَّة طويلة الظَّهر ممدودة هكذا، خطوه مَدُّ بصره، فما زايلا ظهر البُرَاق حتى رأيا الجنة والنار ووَعْدَ الآخرة أجمعَ، ثم رجعا عَودَهما على بِدئهما. قال: ويتحدثون أنه ربطه، لم؟ لِيَفِرَّ منه، وإنما سخَّره له عالم الغيب والشهادة.
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن التحلُّق قبل الصلاة يوم الجمعة
عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن الشراء والبيع في المسجد، وأن تُنشد فيه ضالَّةٌ، وأن ينشد فيه شعر، ونهى عن التحلُّق قبل الصلاة يوم الجمعة.
There are seven whom Allah Almighty will shade in His Shade on a Day when there will be no shade but His Shade
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are seven whom Allah Almighty will shade in His Shade on a Day when there will be no shade but His Shade: a just ruler; a young man who grew up in the worship of Allah; a man whose heart is attached to mosques; two men who love each other for the sake of Allah so they meet and depart from each other for His sake; a man whom a woman of status and beauty invites, but he says: Indeed, I fear Allah; a man who gives charity and conceals it, so his left does not know what his right gave; and a man who remembers Allah in solitude, so his eyes overflow with tears."
