Privacy Policy

Welcome to azkar.me - أذكاري ("we," "our," or "us"). This policy covers two things together: the azkar.me website, and the أذكاري: أذكار وقرآن وصلاة (Azkar Muslim) app for Android and iOS (package com.eslam.freezikr) by developer EslamFaisal.

By using the service, you also agree to our Terms of Service.

In short: the app and the site work fully without an account. Only if you choose to sign in (with Google or Apple) do we collect your email address and name, to run the account and sync your data. We do not sell your data, we show no ads inside the app, and we never use your data for personalized advertising.

The table below is the same disclosure filed in the Google Play "Data safety" section. None of it is collected outside the situation named next to it:

All transfers use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and are stored on Google Firebase servers.

The following never leaves your device and never reaches our servers:

• Location: used on-device to compute prayer times and the qibla direction (or you pick your city manually). We never upload or store your coordinates.
• The mushaf pages and audio files you download.
• Alarm and reminder schedules and their background playback.
• Website display preferences (language, theme, text size, counter progress) in your browser.

• Contacts, address book, or calendar.
• Photos, media, or files from your device.
• Camera, microphone, or screen recording.
• Health or fitness data.
• Card or payment details — purchases run entirely inside Google Play or the App Store, and we never see them.
• Web browsing history, or the text of what you search inside the app.
• Advertising ID — it is stripped from the app, and the app shows no ads.

We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers or advertisers.

Accounts are optional. You can read azkar and the Qur'an, use prayer times and reminders without signing in. Signing in (Google or Apple) enables cloud backup, cross-device sync, the leaderboard, and sending problem reports.

The username you choose is visible to other users on the leaderboard together with your points. Your email address, real name, and photo are never shown to other users.

We rely on the following services to run the app; they process data on our behalf under their own policies:

Website only: with your cookie consent we may use advertising and measurement partners (such as Google AdSense). There are no ads inside the mobile app.

We use cookies and local storage for core technical purposes. With your consent, we may also use additional categories to improve functionality, experience, measurement, and marketing (personalized ads).

• Functionality: remember language and layout choices.
• Experience: improve usability and content presentation.
• Measurement: understand usage to improve the website.
• Marketing: measure ad performance and show personalized ads with consent.

All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and is held in a Firebase project whose security rules stop any user from reading another user's data. Administrative access is limited to the app owner.

The app targets users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under that age, we delete the account and its data — you can contact us at the address below.

How long we keep data

Account data and cloud backups are kept while the account exists. Crash reports and aggregate analytics are kept for up to 14 months. Website preferences stay in your browser until you clear them.

How to delete your data

• Delete your account: in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account), or from the account page on the website. Full details on the delete account and data page.
• Signing out alone keeps your backup intact until you delete the account.
• Local data: clear app data in system settings or uninstall the app. On the web: clear site data in your browser.

You may access, correct, and delete your data, and withdraw consent. Your backup can be restored on your devices, and you can request a copy of it or its full deletion by writing to us from the email address linked to the account.

Foreground Services & Display Over Other Apps (Overlay)

The "Azkar Muslim" app utilizes Android Foreground Services (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE) along with the "System Alert Window" (Display over other apps) permission. These are strictly used to provide core app functionalities:

1. Floating Azkar (Special Use Overlay): To display a persistent floating Zikr counter on your screen over other apps, without being terminated by the Android OS.
2. Audio Reminders (Media Playback): To reliably play scheduled background audio alarms and Azkar sounds.

The app requests only the following permissions, for the stated purpose:

• Notifications and exact alarms: for azkar reminders and prayer times.
• Location (approximate/precise): to compute prayer times and qibla on-device — optional, and you can pick your city manually instead.
• Display over other apps: for the floating zikr counter.

The website requests no device permissions.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and adjust the "Last Updated" date above.

Account and backup data is stored on Google Cloud/Firebase infrastructure and may be processed in data centres outside your country, under Google's international transfer safeguards.

The app works offline after installation: azkar, the mushaf, and prayer times live on the device. Internet is needed only for the account, sync, notifications, and content updates.

The app and website are free to use. An optional in-app purchase supports development and is handled by the app store.
