عن فرة المزني أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن هاتين الشجرتين، وقال: "من أكلهما فلا يقربَنَّ مسجدنا" وقال: "إن كنتم لا بد آكليهما أميتوهما طبخًا" قال: يعني البصل والثوم.

Explanation
أخبر فرة المزني أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن هاتين الشجرتين أي الثوم والبصل، والنهي عنهما ليس المقصود به تحريمهما، وإنما النهي عن استعمالهما على وجهٍ يؤذي المصلين والملائكة، وقال: من أكلهما فلا يأتي المسجد ولا يقربه؛ لكيلا يؤذي المصلين والملائكة من رائحتهما، وقال: إن كان لابد من أكلهما فأميتوهما طبخًا، بحيث تذهب رائحتهما بالطبخ، وكذلك لو أكلوهما وهم بحاجة إليهما بدون طبخ، فليكن في وقت مبكر بحيث تذهب الرائحة قبل المجيء للمسجد.
