Meaning
O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him, honor his reception, widen his resting place, wash him with water and snow and hail, and cleanse him of sins as a white garment is cleansed of stains. Grant him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Admit him into Paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.
When to recite
It is recited during the funeral prayer after the third takbeer; while any sincere supplication for the deceased is valid, this one is among the most comprehensive and complete.
