Prayer azkar recited in the tashahhud form a major part of salah, combining praise of Allah, greeting the Prophet and Allah's righteous servants, and testifying to the two declarations of faith. It is said in every first and final sitting of the prayer.
At-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibat, as-salamu 'alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, as-salamu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadil-lahis-saliheen, ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasooluh.

Meaning
All greetings, prayers, and good deeds are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
When to recite
Say it while sitting for the first tashahhud in prayers of three or four rak'ahs, and for the final tashahhud in every prayer; in the final sitting it is followed by sending blessings upon the Prophet.
