Sayyid al Istighfar

From Seeking Forgiveness — Hisnul Muslim

Istighfar reaches its highest form in Sayyid al-Istighfar, the finest and most comprehensive formula of seeking forgiveness; in it the servant affirms Allah's lordship alone, acknowledges His favor, admits his own sin, then asks pardon from the One who alone forgives sins. A single supplication that unites tawhid, acknowledgment, and repentance.

Allahumma 'anta rabiy laa ilah 'iilaa 'anta، khalaqtanee wa'anaa 'abduka، wa'anaa 'alaa 'ahdika wawa'dika maa stata'tu، 'a'oodhu bika min shari maa sana'tu، 'aboo'u laka bini'matika 'alaya، wa'aboo'u bidhanbee faaghfir lee fa'iinahu laa yaghfiru adh-dhunooba 'iilaa 'anta
