When a dog drinks from the vessel of any of you, let him wash it seven times
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a dog drinks from the vessel of any of you, let him wash it seven times." In a version by Muslim: "the first of which is with dust."
He who drinks in a vessel (made) of gold or silver has, in fact, swallowed in his stomach fire from Hell
Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He who drinks - another narration reads: He who eats or drinks - in a vessel (made) of gold or silver has, in fact, swallowed in his stomach fire from Hell."
It is not impure. It is one of those who roam around among you
Kabshah bint Ka‘b ibn Mālik, who was married to the son of Abu Qatādah, reported: Abu Qatādah came in so I poured out some water for him to use for ablution. A cat came to drink from it, so he tilted the vessel for it until it drank. Kabshah continued: He saw me looking at him and said: "Do you find it strange, O daughter of my brother?" I said: 'Yes.' He said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'It is not impure. It is one of those who roam around among you.'"
هلّا انتفعتم بجلدها؟
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: وجد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم شاةً ميتةً أُعْطِيَتْها مولاة لميمونة من الصدقة، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: «هلَّا انتفعتم بجلدها؟» قالوا: إنها ميتة، قال: «إنما حَرُمَ أكلُها».
إذا ولغ الكلب في الإناء فاغسلوه سبع مرات، وعفروه الثامنة في التراب
عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُغَفَّلِ قَالَ: أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «مَا بَالُهُمْ وَبَالُ الْكِلَابِ؟» ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِي كَلْبِ الصَّيْدِ وَكَلْبِ الْغَنَمِ، وَقَالَ: «إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَاغْسِلُوهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَعَفِّرُوهُ الثَّامِنَةَ فِي التُّرَابِ».
Some people of the Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) dragging one of their sheep like a donkey (in its size or for its disposal). The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "Would that you took its skin." They said: "It died a natural death." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Water and Qarazh (leaves of the mimosa) purify it."
Al-‘Āliyah bint Subay‘ reported: I had some sheep at Uhud, and they began to die. I visited Maymūnah, the Prophet's wife, and mentioned it to her. Maymūnah said to me: "It would be better if you took their skins and made use of them." I asked: "Is that lawful?" She replied: "Yes. Some people of the Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) dragging one of their sheep like a donkey (in its size or for its disposal). The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: ‘Would that you took its skin.’ They said: ‘It died a natural death.’ The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Water and Qarazh (leaves of the mimosa) purify it.'"
That when the cup of the Prophet cracked, he mended the crack with a silver chain
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that when the cup of the Prophet cracked, he mended the crack with a silver chain.
رأيت قَدَحَ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عند أنس بن مالك، وكان قد انصدع فسلسله بفضة
عن عاصم الأحول، قال: رأيت قَدَحَ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عند أنس بن مالك، وكان قد انصدع فسلسله بفضة، قال: وهو قدح جيد عريض من نُضَارٍ، قال: قال أنس: لقد سقيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في هذا القدح أكثر من كذا وكذا. قال: وقال ابن سيرين: إنه كان فيه حلْقة من حديد، فأراد أنس أن يجعل مكانها حلْقة من ذهب أو فضة، فقال له أبو طلحة: لا تُغَيِّرَنَّ شيئًا صنعه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فتركه.
