When you go to a place to relieve yourselves, do not face or turn your back to the Qiblah (prayer direction); rather, turn towards the east or the west
Abu Ayyūb al-Ansāri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you go to a place to relieve yourselves, do not face or turn your back to the Qiblah (prayer direction); rather, turn towards the east or the west." Abu Ayyūb said: We came to the Levant and found lavatories built in the direction of the Qiblah, so, we used to divert ourselves and ask forgiveness from Allah Almighty.
When a dog drinks from the vessel of any of you, let him wash it seven times
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a dog drinks from the vessel of any of you, let him wash it seven times." In a version by Muslim: "the first of which is with dust."
I was a man of frequent discharge of Madhi (pre-seminal fluid) and I was too shy to ask the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about it given his daughter's status. So, I asked Al-Miqdād ibn al-Aswad to ask him and he did. Thereupon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Let him wash his penis and perform ablution
‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: "I was a man of frequent discharge of Madhi (pre-seminal fluid) and I was too shy to ask the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about it given his daughter's status. So, I asked Al-Miqdād ibn al-Aswad to ask him and he did. Thereupon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Let him wash his penis and perform ablution.'" A narration of Al-Bukhāri reads: Thereupon, he (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform ablution and wash your penis."
When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the privy, a servant and I used to carry a waterskin and a pointed staff, and he would cleanse himself with water
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the privy, a servant and I used to carry a waterskin and a pointed staff, and he would cleanse himself with water.
A Bedouin came and urinated in a corner of the mosque
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a Bedouin came and urinated in a corner of the mosque. So, the people rebuked him. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) stopped them and when he finished urinating, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that a bucket of water should be poured over that place, and they did so.
Glory be to Allah! The believer never becomes impure
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) met him on one of the roads of Madīnah while he was in a state of major ritual impurity. He sneaked away from him and went to take a bath. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) noticed his absence, and when he came back, he said: "Where were you, Abu Hurayrah?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, you met me while I was in a state of major ritual impurity, and I disliked to sit with you in that state until I had performed ghusl. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Glory be to Allah! The believer never becomes impure."
That she brought her small son, who had not yet eaten solid food, to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) seated him on his lap, and he (the child) urinated on his garment. So the Prophet (ﷺ) called for some water, sprinkled it over the affected area, and did not wash it
’Umm Qays bint Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: That she brought her small son, who had not yet eaten solid food, to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) seated him on his lap, and he (the child) urinated on his garment. So the Prophet (ﷺ) called for some water, sprinkled it over the affected area, and did not wash it.
Let him, and pour a bucket or pail of water onto his urine. You were sent to make things easy and not to make them difficult
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A Bedouin man urinated in the mosque, so the people got up and moved towards him to scorn him. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let him and pour a bucket or pail of water onto his urine. You were sent to make things easy and not to make them difficult."
It is not impure. It is one of those who roam around among you
Kabshah bint Ka‘b ibn Mālik, who was married to the son of Abu Qatādah, reported: Abu Qatādah came in so I poured out some water for him to use for ablution. A cat came to drink from it, so he tilted the vessel for it until it drank. Kabshah continued: He saw me looking at him and said: "Do you find it strange, O daughter of my brother?" I said: 'Yes.' He said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'It is not impure. It is one of those who roam around among you.'"
The urine of a girl should be washed, but the urine of a boy should be splashed with water
Abu As-Samh reported: I used to serve the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and whenever he wanted to take a bath, he would say: "Turn the other way." So I would turn my back and screen him with it. Al-Hasan or Al-Husayn was brought to him once, and (the infant) urinated on his chest. When I wanted to wash it, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The urine of a girl should be washed, but the urine of a boy should be splashed with water."
She should scrape it, rub it with water, and wash it, and then she may pray in it
Asmā' (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: A woman came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "If anyone of us gets menses in her garment, what should she do?" He replied: "She should scrape it, rub it with water, and wash it, and then she may pray in it."
It is enough for you to wash the blood, and there is nothing wrong with its mark
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Khawlah bint Yasār (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have only one dress and I menstruate in it. What should I do?" He said: "When you are purified, wash it and pray in it." She asked: "What if the blood is not removed?" He said: "It is enough for you to wash the blood, and there is nothing wrong with its mark."
If any of you treads with his shoes on something unclean, they will be purified with the earth
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any of you treads with his shoes on something unclean, they will be purified with the earth."
ألقوها وما حولها فاطرحوه، وكلوا سمنكم
عن ابن عباس عن ميمونة أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سئل عن فأرة سقطت في سمن فقال: «ألقوها وما حولها فاطرحوه، وكلوا سمنكم».
إذا أصاب ثوبَ إحداكن الدمُ من الحَيضة فلتقرُصْه
عن أسماء بنت أبي بكر الصديق أنها قالت: سألت امرأة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالت: يا رسول الله، أرأيت إحدانا إذا أصاب ثوبها الدم من الحيضة كيف تصنع؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إذا أصاب ثوبَ إحداكن الدمُ من الحَيضة فلتقرُصْه، ثم لتنضَحه بماء، ثم لتصلي فيه».
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يُؤْتَى بالصبيان فيُبرِّكُ عليهم ويُحنِّكُهم
عن عائشة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يُؤْتَى بالصبيان فيُبرِّكُ عليهم ويُحنِّكُهم، فأتي بصبي فبال عليه، فدعا بماء، فأتبعه بوله ولم يغسله.
إذا ولغ الكلب في الإناء فاغسلوه سبع مرات، وعفروه الثامنة في التراب
عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُغَفَّلِ قَالَ: أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «مَا بَالُهُمْ وَبَالُ الْكِلَابِ؟» ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِي كَلْبِ الصَّيْدِ وَكَلْبِ الْغَنَمِ، وَقَالَ: «إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَاغْسِلُوهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَعَفِّرُوهُ الثَّامِنَةَ فِي التُّرَابِ».
هذا ركس
عَن عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بنِ مَسعُودٍ قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الغَائِطَ فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آتِيَهُ بِثَلاَثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ، فَوَجَدْتُ حَجَرَيْنِ، وَالتَمَسْتُ الثَّالِثَ فَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ، فَأَخَذْتُ رَوْثَةً فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهَا، فَأَخَذَ الحَجَرَيْنِ وَأَلْقَى الرَّوْثَةَ، وَقَالَ: «هَذَا رِكْسٌ».
إذا دبغ الإهاب فقد طَهُرَ
عن عبد الله بن عباس قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: «إذا دبغ الإهاب فقد طَهُرَ».
