أعوذ بوجهك
عن جابر رضي الله عنه قال: لما نزلت هذه الآية: {قل هو القادر على أن يبعث عليكم عذابا من فوقكم} [الأنعام: 65] قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «أعوذ بوجهك»، قال: {أو من تحت أرجلكم} [الأنعام: 65]، قال: «أعوذ بوجهك» {أو يلبسكم شيعا ويذيق بعضكم بأس بعض} [الأنعام: 65] قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «هذا أهون أو هذا أيسر».
أُنزِل {ولا تجهر بصلاتك ولا تخافت بها} في الدعاء
عن عائشة رضي الله عنها في قوله عز وجل: {ولا تجهر بصلاتك ولا تخافت بها} [الإسراء: 110] قالت: أنزل هذا في الدعاء.
إني كرهت أن أذكر الله عز وجل إلا على طهر
عن المهاجر بن قنفذ أنه أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يبول، فسلم عليه، فلم يرد عليه حتى توضأ، ثم اعتذر إليه فقال: "إني كرهت أن أذكر الله عز وجل إلا على طهر" أو قال: "على طهارة".
قل: اللهم إني ظلمت نفسي ظلما كثيرا، ولا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت، فاغفر لي مغفرة من عندك
عن أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه: أنه قال لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: علمني دعاء أدعو به في صلاتي، قال: "قل: اللهم إني ظلمت نفسي ظلما كثيرا، ولا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت، فاغفر لي مغفرة من عندك، وارحمني إنك أنت الغفور الرحيم".
كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لا يرفع يديه في شيء من دعائه إلا في الاستسقاء
عن أنس بن مالك قال: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لا يرفع يديه في شيء من دعائه إلا في الاستسقاء، وإنه يرفع حتى يرى بياض إبطيه.
كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أفطر قال: ذهب الظمأ وابتلت العروق وثبت الأجر إن شاء الله
عن ابن عمر قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أفطر قال: "ذهب الظمأُ، وابتلت العروق، وثبت الأجر إن شاء الله".
كان إذا اشتدت الريح يقول: اللهم لَقِحًا لا عقيمًا
عن سلمة بن الأكوع يرفعه إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: كان إذا اشتدت الريح يقول: «اللهم لَقِحًا لا عقيمًا».
اللهم اسقنا غيثًا مُغيثًا مَريئًا مَريعًا نافعًا غير ضار، عاجلًا، غير آجل
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَوَاكِي، فَقَالَ: «اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيثًا، مَرِيئًا مَرِيعًا، نَافِعًا غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ، عَاجِلًا غَيْرَ آجِلٍ»، قَالَ: فَأَطْبَقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاءُ.
دعاء دخول القرية
عَن صُهَيْبٍ صَاحِبَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَرَ قَرْيَةً يُرِيدُ دُخُولَهَا إِلَّا قَالَ حِينَ يَرَاهَا: «اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَظْلَلْنَ، وَرَبَّ الْأَرَضِينَ وَمَا أَقْلَلْنَ، وَرَبَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ وَمَا أَضْلَلْنَ، وَرَبَّ الرِّيَاحِ وَمَا ذَرَيْنَ، فَإِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ وَخَيْرَ أَهْلِهَا، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ أَهْلِهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا».
رأيتُ رسولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يعقِدُ التسبيحَ
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْقِدُ التَّسْبِيحَ، وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ:بِيَمِينِهِ.
لكل نبي دعوة مستجابة
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ يَدْعُو بِهَا، وَأُرِيدُ أَنْ أَخْتَبِئَ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لِأُمَّتِي فِي الآخِرَةِ».
اللهم خلقتَ نفسي وأنت تَوفَّاها، لك مماتها ومحياها
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ قَالَ: «اللهُمَّ خَلَقْتَ نَفْسِي وَأَنْتَ تَوَفَّاهَا، لَكَ مَمَاتُهَا وَمَحْيَاهَا، إِنْ أَحْيَيْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا، وَإِنْ أَمَتَّهَا فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا، اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ» فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَسَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنْ عُمَرَ؟ فَقَالَ: مِنْ خَيْرٍ مِنْ عُمَرَ، مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أراد أن ينام قال: باسمك اللهم أموت وأحيا
عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ قَالَ: «بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا» وَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنْ مَنَامِهِ قَالَ: «الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَمَا أَمَاتَنَا، وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ».
استعيذوا بالله من عذاب جهنم
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَاسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ القَبْرِ، اسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَاسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالمَمَاتِ».
من سأل الله الجنة ثلاث مرات قالت الجنة: اللهم أدخله الجنة
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ سَأَلَ اللَّهَ الجَنَّةَ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَتِ الجَنَّةُ: اللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْهُ الجَنَّةَ، وَمَنْ اسْتَجَارَ مِنَ النَّارِ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَتِ النَّارُ: اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ».
إذا سمعتم صياح الديكة فاسألوا الله من فضله فإنها رأت ملكًا
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ صِيَاحَ الدِّيَكَةِ فَاسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ، فَإِنَّهَا رَأَتْ مَلَكًا، وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ نَهِيقَ الحِمَارِ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ، فَإِنَّهُ رَأَى شَيْطَانًا».
سيكونُ قوم يَعتَدونَ في الدُّعاء
عَنِ ابْنٍ لِسَعْدٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: سَمِعَنِي أَبِي وَأَنَا أَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَنَعِيمَهَا وَبَهْجَتَهَا، وَكَذَا وَكَذَا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَسَلَاسِلِهَا وَأَغْلَالِهَا، وَكَذَا وَكَذَا، فَقَالَ: يَا بُنَيَّ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «سَيَكُونُ قَوْمٌ يَعْتَدُونَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ»، فَإِيَّاكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ، إِنَّكَ إِنْ أُعْطِيتَ الْجَنَّةَ أُعْطِيتَهَا وَمَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْخَيْرِ، وَإِنْ أُعِذْتَ مِنَ النَّارِ أُعِذْتَ مِنْهَا وَمَا فِيهَا مِنَ الشَّرِّ.
إنه سيكون في هذه الأمة قوم يعتدون في الطهور والدعاء
عَنْ أَبِي نَعَامَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُغَفَّلٍ سَمِعَ ابْنَهُ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْقَصْرَ الْأَبْيَضَ، عَنْ يَمِينِ الْجَنَّةِ إِذَا دَخَلْتُهَا، فَقَالَ: أَيْ بُنَيَّ، سَلِ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَتَعَوَّذْ بِهِ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ قَوْمٌ يَعْتَدُونَ فِي الطَّهُورِ وَالدُّعَاءِ».
دعوة ذي النون إذ دعا وهو في بطن الحوت: لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين
عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «دَعْوَةُ ذِي النُّونِ إِذْ دَعَا وَهُوَ فِي بَطْنِ الحُوتِ: لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ، إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَدْعُ بِهَا رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلاَّ اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُ».
وسلوا الله المعافاة، فإنه لم يؤت أحد بعد اليقين خيرًا من المعافاة
عَنْ أَوْسَطَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبَجَلِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ حِينَ قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا عَامَ الْأَوَّلِ، ثُمَّ بَكَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالصِّدْقِ، فَإِنَّهُ مَعَ الْبِرِّ وَهُمَا فِي الْجَنَّةِ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْكَذِبَ، فَإِنَّهُ مَعَ الْفُجُورِ وَهُمَا فِي النَّارِ، وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ الْمُعَافَاةَ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يُؤْتَ أَحَدٌ بَعْدَ الْيَقِينِ خَيْرًا مِنَ الْمُعَافَاةِ، وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا، وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا، وَلَا تَقَاطَعُوا، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا».
اللهم اقسم لنا من خشيتك ما يحول بيننا وبين معاصيك
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَلَّمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُومُ مِنْ مَجْلِسٍ حَتَّى يَدْعُوَ بِهَؤُلاَءِ الدَّعَوَاتِ لأَصْحَابِهِ: اللَّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لَنَا مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا يَحُولُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مَعَاصِيكَ، وَمِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنَا بِهِ جَنَّتَكَ، وَمِنَ اليَقِينِ مَا تُهَوِّنُ بِهِ عَلَيْنَا مُصِيبَاتِ الدُّنْيَا، وَمَتِّعْنَا بِأَسْمَاعِنَا وَأَبْصَارِنَا وَقُوَّتِنَا مَا أَحْيَيْتَنَا، وَاجْعَلْهُ الوَارِثَ مِنَّا، وَاجْعَلْ ثَأْرَنَا عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنَا، وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى مَنْ عَادَانَا، وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ مُصِيبَتَنَا فِي دِينِنَا، وَلاَ تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا وَلاَ مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنَا، وَلاَ تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيْنَا مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُنَا.
إن تكلم بخير كان طابعًا عليهن إلى يوم القيامة، وإن تكلم بغير ذلك كان كفارة له
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا أَو صَلَّى تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَاتٍ، فَسَأَلَتْهُ عَائِشَةُ عَنْ الْكَلِمَاتِ، فَقَالَ: «إِنْ تَكَلَّمَ بِخَيرٍ كَانَ طَابِعًا عَلَيهِنَّ إِلَى يَومِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَإِنْ تَكَلَّمَ بِغَيرِ ذَلِكَ كَانَ كَفَّارَةً لَهُ: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيكَ».
رَبِّ اغفِر لي وتُب عليَّ، إنَك أنتَ التَّوابُ الرحيم
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: إِنْ كُنَّا لَنَعُدُّ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ الْوَاحِدِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ: «رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ».
إذا اشترى أحدكم الجارية فليقل: اللهم إني أسألك خيرها وخير ما جبلتَها عليه
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا اشْتَرَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْجَارِيَةَ فَلْيَقُلْ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ، وَلْيَدْعُ بِالْبَرَكَةِ، وَإِذَا اشْتَرَى أَحَدُكُمْ بَعِيرًا فَلْيَأْخُذْ بِذِرْوَةِ سَنَامِهِ، وَلْيَدْعُ بِالْبَرَكَةِ، وَلْيَقُلْ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ».
مَن أطعمه الله طعامًا فليقل: اللهم بارك لنا فيه، وارزقنا خيرًا منه
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أَطْعَمَهُ اللَّهُ طَعَامًا فَلْيَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ، وَارْزُقْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ، وَمَنْ سَقَاهُ اللَّهُ لَبَنًا فَلْيَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ، وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ، فَإِنِّي لَا أَعْلَمُ مَا يُجْزِئُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ، إِلَّا اللَّبَنُ».
اللهم إني أعوذ بك عن الجوع, فإنه بئس الضجيع
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُوعِ، فَإِنَّهُ بِئْسَ الضَّجِيعُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخِيَانَةِ، فَإِنَّهَا بِئْسَتِ الْبِطَانَةُ».
اللهم لك الحمد، أنت كسوتنيه، أسالك من خيره، وخير ما صنع له، وأعوذ بك من شره، وشر ما صنع له
عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اسْتَجَدَّ ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ إِمَّا قَمِيصًا أَوْ عِمَامَةً، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: «اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ»، قَالَ أَبُو نَضْرَةَ: وَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا لَبِسَ أَحَدُهُمْ ثَوْبًا جَدِيدًا قِيلَ لَهُ: تُبْلِي وَيُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
من قال حين يمسي ثلاث مرات: أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق، لم يضره حمة تلك الليلة.
«مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يُمْسِي ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ، لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ حُمَةٌ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ».
إذا سمعتم صياح الديكة فاسألوا الله من فضله
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ صِيَاحَ الدِّيَكَةِ فَاسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ، فَإِنَّهَا رَأَتْ مَلَكًا، وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ نَهِيقَ الحِمَارِ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ، فَإِنَّهُ رَأَى شَيْطَانًا»، وَعِنْدَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ جَابِرٍ: «إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ نُبَاحَ الْكِلَابِ وَنَهِيقَ الْحُمُرِ بِاللَّيْلِ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ، فَإِنَّهُنَّ يَرَيْنَ مَا لَا تَرَوْنَ».
إذا عطس أحدكم فحمد الله فشمتوه
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ، فَشَمِّتُوهُ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَحْمَدِ اللهَ، فَلَا تُشَمِّتُوهُ».
ما من مسلم يبيت على ذِكرٍ طاهرًا فيتعارُّ من الليل فيسأل الله خيرًا من الدنيا والأخرة إلا أعطاه إياه
عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَبِيتُ عَلَى ذِكْرٍ طَاهِرًا فَيَتَعَارُّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَيَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ خَيْرًا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ».
لا تقل: تعس الشيطان، فإنك إذا قلت ذلك تعاظم حتى يكون مثل البيت
عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَعَثَرَتْ دَابَّتهُ، فَقُلْتُ: تَعِسَ الشَّيْطَانُ، فَقَالَ: «لَا تَقُلْ: تَعِسَ الشَّيْطَانُ، فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا قُلْتَ ذَلِكَ تَعَاظَمَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ مِثْلَ الْبَيْتِ، وَيَقُولُ: بِقُوَّتِي، وَلَكِنْ قُلْ: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا قُلْتَ ذَلِكَ تَصَاغَرَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ مِثْلَ الذُّبَابِ».
These are the signs which Allah sends, not on account of the death of anyone or life of any one, but Allah sends them to frighten His servants thereby. So when you see any such thing, hasten to remember Him, supplicate Him, and beg pardon from Him
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). He stood in great anxiety fearing that it might be the Doomsday, till he came to the mosque. He stood up to pray with prolonged standing and prostration such as I never saw him doing in prayer; and then he said: "These are the signs which Allah sends, not on account of the death of anyone or life of any one, but Allah sends them to frighten His servants thereby. So when you see any such thing, hasten to remember Him, supplicate Him, and beg pardon from Him."
O Allah, cure Sa‘d, O Allah, cure Sa‘d
Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) visited me when I was ill and said: "O Allah, cure Sa‘d; O Allah, cure Sa‘d; O Allah, cure Sa‘d!"
O Allah, save ʿAyyāsh ibn Abu Rabīʿah. O Allah, save Salamah ibn Hishām. O Allah, save Al-Walīd ibn al-Walīd. O Allah, save the oppressed believers. O Allah, be hard on [the tribe of] Mudar. O Allah, afflict them with years of famine and drought like the years of Yūsuf (Joseph)
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) lifted his head from bowing in the last Rakʿah, he used to say: "O Allah, save ʿAyyāsh ibn Abu Rabīʿah. O Allah, save Salamah ibn Hishām. O Allah, save Al-Walīd ibn al-Walīd. O Allah, save the oppressed believers. O Allah, be hard on [the tribe of] Mudar. O Allah, afflict them with years of famine and drought like the years of Yūsuf!" The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) further said: "[The tribe of] Ghifār, Allah forgave them. [The tribe of] Aslam, Allah had peace with them." Ibn Abu Az-Zinād, reporting from his father, said: "All that was in the Fajr Prayer.”
My Lord, support me and do not support others against me; grant me victory and do not grant others victory over me; plan for me and do not plan against me; guide me and make my guidance easy for me; grant me victory against whoever wronged me
Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: "My Lord, support me and do not support others against me; grant me victory and do not grant others victory over me; plan for me and do not plan against me; guide me and make my guidance easy for me; grant me victory against whoever wronged me. O Allah, make me grateful to You, remembering You, fearful of You, obedient to You, and humble to You or returning to You in repentance. O Lord, accept my repentance, wash away my sins, answer my supplication, establish my proof (words), guide my heart, make my tongue speak the truth, and take resentment (hatred) away from my heart."
مَرَّ علي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وأنا أدعو بإصبعيَّ فقال: أحِّد أحِّد
عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ قَالَ: مَرَّ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أَدْعُو بِأُصْبُعَيَّ، فَقَالَ: «أَحِّدْ أَحِّدْ»، وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ.
O Allah, to You I have submitted, and in You I have believed, in You I have put my trust, to You I have turned in repentance, and for You I have argued. O Allah, I seek refuge with Your power, there is no god but You, that You lead me astray. You are the Ever Living, the One who never dies, whereas the human beings and jinn will all die
Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "O Allah, to You I have submitted, and in You I have believed, in You I have put my trust, to You I have turned in repentance, and for You I have argued. O Allah, I seek refuge with Your power, there is no god but You, that You lead me astray. You are the Ever Living, the One who never dies, whereas the human beings and jinn will all die."
How can I be at ease when the one with the trumpet has put his lips to the trumpet waiting to hear the order to blow it?
Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How can I be at ease when the one with the trumpet has put his lips to the trumpet waiting to hear the order to blow it?" This very much distressed the Companions, so he said to them: "Say: {Sufficient for us is Allah, and (He is) the best Disposer of affairs}."
O Allah, forgive my past and future sins, and my secret and open sins
‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to say at the end of prayer, between the Tashahhud and Taslīm: "O Allah, forgive my past and future sins, my secret and open sins, my transgression, and that of which You have better knowledge than I. Indeed, You are the One Who puts forward, and You are the One Who puts back. There is no god but You."
Allāhumma laka aslamt, wa bika āmant, wa ‘alayka tawakkalt, wa ’ilayka anabt, wa bika khāsamt. Allāhumma inni a‘ūdhu bi‘izzatika, la ilāha illa ant, an tudillani. Anta al-hayyu alladhi la yamūt, wal-jinnu wal-insu yamūtūn. (O Allah, I surrender to You, I believe in You, I rely upon You, to You I repent, and with Your help I dispute. I seek refuge in Your Might. There is no god but You, that You do not lead me astray. You are the Ever-Living Who never dies, but the Jinn and humans die)
Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Allāhumma laka aslamt, wa bika āmant, wa ‘alayka tawakkalt, wa ’ilayka anabt, wa bika khāsamt. Allāhumma inni a‘ūdhu bi‘izzatika, la ilāha illa ant, an tudillani. Anta al-hayyu alladhi la yamūt, wal-jinnu wal-insu yamūtūn. (O Allah, I surrender to You, I believe in You, I rely upon You, to You I repent, and with Your help I dispute. I seek refuge in Your Might. There is no god but You, that You do not lead me astray. Allāhumma inni as’aluka al-huda wa at-tuqa wa al-‘afāf wa al-ghina (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency)
‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Allāhumma inni as’aluka al-huda wa at-tuqa wa al-‘afāf wa al-ghina (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency)."
Whoever says: Subhānallāh al-‘azhīm wa bihamdih (Glory be to Allah the Most Great and praise is due to Him), a date palm will be planted for him in Paradise
Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says: Subhānallāh al-‘azhīm wa bihamdih (Glory be to Allah the Most Great and praise is due to Him), a date palm will be planted for him in Paradise."
O people, repent to Allah, for I repent to Him one hundred times a day
Al-Agharr (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Prophet's Companions, reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people, repent to Allah, for I repent to Him one hundred times a day."
No Muslim invokes Allah with a supplication that does not involve sin or severing ties of kinship, except that Allah will grant him one of three: either His supplication will be answered soon, or He will save it for him in the Hereafter, or He will avert from him an equivalent amount of evil." They said: Then we should do more. He said: "Allah is even more

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say in his prostration: "Allāhumma ighfir li dhambi kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, wa awwalahu wa ākhirahu, wa ‘alāniyatahu wa sirrahu (O Allah, forgive me all my sins, the small and the great, the first and the last, the public and the private)

Verily, your Lord is Bashful and Munificent. He is too Bashful of His slave to let him go empty-handed when raising his hands to Him
Salmān (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Verily, your Lord is Bashful and Munificent. He is too Bashful of His slave to let him go empty-handed when raising his hands to Him."
I said four words three times after I had left you; if they were to be weighed against what you have been saying since morning, they would outweigh them
Juwayriyah, Mother of the Believers, (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went out from her house in the early morning when he prayed the Morning prayer, while she was in her prayer place. Then he returned after offering the Forenoon prayer while she was still sitting. He said: "Are you still in the state I left you in?" She said: Yes. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I said four words three times after I had left you; if they were to be weighed against what you have been saying since morning, they would outweigh them: Subhānallāh wa bihamdih, ‘adada khalqih, wa rida nafsih, a zinata ‘arshih, wa midāda kalimātih (Glory be to Allah and all praise is due to Him by the number of His creation, by His own pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the ink of His words.)."
No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember Allah and do not invoke blessings upon their Prophet, except that it will be a source of regret for them. If He wills, He will punish them, and if He wills, He will forgive them
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember Allah and do not invoke blessings upon their Prophet, except that it will be a source of regret for them. If He wills, He will punish them, and if He wills, He will forgive them."
