Are you not aware that Islam wipes out all (sins) that preceded it, and that Hijrah wipes out all (sins) that preceded it, and that Hajj wipes out all (sins) that preceded it?
Ibn Shumāsah al-Mahri reported: We went to ‘Amr ibn al-Āas (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was on his death bed. He wept for long and turned his face to the wall. His son kept saying: "O Father, didn't the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) give you the glad tidings of such-and-such? Didn't the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) give you the glad tidings of such-and-such?" He turned his face and said: "The best thing that we can prepare is the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Verily, I have passed through three stages. I remember myself when I hated the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) more than anyone else and I wished for nothing more than killing him. Had I died in that state, I would have surely been from the dwellers of the Fire. When Allah instilled the love for Islam in my heart, I went to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: 'Stretch out your right hand so that I may pledge allegiance to you.' He stretched out his right hand, but I withdrew my hand. He said: 'What is the matter, ‘Amr ?' I replied: 'I wish to stipulate a condition.' He asked: 'What is your condition?' I said: 'That I would be forgiven.' He said: 'Are you not aware that Islam wipes out all (sins) that preceded it, and that Hijrah wipes out all (sins) that preceded it, and that Hajj wipes out all (sins) that preceded it?' Thereafter, no one was dearer to me than the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) nor was there anyone more revered in my eyes than him. I could never bring myself to catch a full glimpse of his face out of respect for him. If I were asked to describe his features, I would not be able to because I have never fully looked at him. Had I died in that state, I could have hoped to be from the dwellers of Paradise. Thereafter, we were made responsible for many things and in the light of which I am unable to know what is in store for me. When I die, let neither wailing woman nor fire accompany me. When you bury me, throw the earth gently over me, then stand around my grave for the time within which a camel is slaughtered and its meat is distributed so that I may find relief in your company and prepare what answer I can give to the messengers of my Lord."

Their Lord asks them, and He knows best: 'What are My slaves saying?' They reply: 'They are exalting You, glorifying You, praising You, and extolling You.' He asks: 'Have they seen Me?' They reply: 'No, by Allah they have not seen You.' He asks: 'What if they see Me?' He said: 'One will be with those whom he loves.'" ‘Abdullāh ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who loves some people but cannot catch up with their good deeds?' There were two brothers during the time of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). One of them used to come to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and the other used to work to earn a living. Once, the working brother complained to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about his brother. Thereupon, he replied: Perhaps you are granted sustenance because of him
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: There were two brothers during the time of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). Once, the working brother complained to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about his brother. Thereupon, he replied: "Perhaps you are granted sustenance because of him."
Indeed, Allah has made Paradise obligatory for her because of it, or He has freed her from Hellfire because of it
‘Ā’ishah, the Mother of the Believers, (may Allah be pleased with her), reported: A poor woman came to me carrying her two daughters. So I gave her three dates to eat, and she gave one to each of her daughters. She then lifted a date to her mouth to eat it, but her daughters asked for it, so she split the date between the two of them. Her action amazed me. I mentioned what she did to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he said: "Indeed, Allah has made Paradise obligatory for her because of it, or He has freed her from Hellfire because of it."
The Prophet's wives were with him when Fātimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came walking. Her gait was exactly similar to the gait of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)
‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The the Prophet's wives were with him when Fātimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came walking. Her gait was exactly similar to the gait of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). When he saw her, he welcomed her saying: "Welcome, my daughter." He made her sit on his right side or on his left side. Then he said something secretly to her and she wept bitterly. When he found her in grief, he said to her something secretly for the second time and she laughed. I said to her: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) has singled you out with talking to you secretly, excluding all his wives, and you weep!" When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went away, I said to her: "What did the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say to you?" Thereupon she said: "I am not going to disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)." When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died, I said to her: "I adjure you by the right that I have upon you that you should tell me what the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to you." She said: "Yes, now I can do that. When he talked to me secretly for the first time he informed me that Jibrīl was in the habit of reciting the Qur'an along with him once or twice every year, but this year it had been twice and so he perceived that his death was quite near, so fear Allah and be patient, and he told me that he would be an excellent predecessor for me, and so I wept as you saw me. Then when he saw me in grief, he talked to me secretly for the second time and said: 'O Fātimah, would it please you to know that you will be the head of the believing women or the head of the women of this Ummah?' So I laughed and it was that laughter which you saw.'"
I never felt jealous of any of the Prophet's wives more than I felt jealous of Khadījah (may Allah be pleased with her). I never saw her, but he used to mention her a lot
‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: I never felt jealous of any of the Prophet's wives more than I felt jealous of Khadījah (may Allah be pleased with her). I never saw her, but he used to mention her a lot. He would slaughter a sheep and cut it into pieces and then send (gifts of meat) to the friends of Khadījah. I would sometimes say to him: "It is as if there was none in the world except Khadījah!" And he would say: "She was such-and-such, and I had children from her." In another narration: "He would slaughter a sheep and send enough meat to her close friends." In a third narration: "When he slaughtered a sheep, he would say: 'Send it to the friends of Khadījah.'" In a fourth narration: "Hālah bint Khuwaylid, the sister of Khadījah, asked for permission to enter unto the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). So he remembered the way Khadījah would seek permission. This pleased him, and he said: 'O Allah, (let it be) Hālah bint Khuwaylid.'"

Thābit reported from Anas that he said: "I will do my best to lead you in prayer just as the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in prayer." Thābit said: "Anas used to do something which I don't see you doing: whenever he raised his head after bowing, he would stand for such a long time that one would think that he had forgotten; and whenever he raised his head after prostration, he would sit so long that one would think that he had forgotten."
You indulge in such actions that are less significant in your eyes than a hair, while we used to consider them destructive sins during the Prophet’s lifetime

I said: 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent me on an errand.' She said: 'What was that errand?' I said: 'It is a secret.' She said: 'Do not tell anyone the secret of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him).'" Anas said: "By Allah, if I were to tell anyone about it, I would have told you about it, O Thābit."
There are forty good qualities, the best of which is the lending of a milch goat. Anyone carries out any of these virtuous deeds seeking its reward (from Allah) with firm confidence that he will receive it, Allah will admit him to Paradise
Abu Muhammad Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Ās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are forty good qualities, the best of which is the lending of a milch goat. He said: "The one who is closer to Allah."

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was never asked anything and said 'no'
Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) never said: "No" to anyone who asked him for something. Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Never was the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) asked for anything by someone who was about to accept Islam but that he gave it to them. A man came to him and asked for alms, so he gave him a number of sheep (so large that they filled the space) between two mountains. So the man returned to his people and told them: "O my people, embrace Islam, for Muhammad gives lavishly like someone who does not fear any poverty." Some people would embrace Islam only for worldly gains, but Islam soon became dearer to them than the whole world and all what is in it.

The guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me are like abundant rain that fell on some ground
Abu Mūsa (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me are like abundant rain that fell on some ground. A part of it was good, absorbing the water, so it brought forth abundant herbage and pasture; and there were some bare patches in it that retained the water by which Allah gave benefit to people who drank, watered, and grew plants. But some of it fell on another flat portion that could not retain the water or produce herbage. That is like the one who becomes versed in Allah's religion and receives benefit from the message entrusted to me by Allah, so he knows for himself and teaches others; and it is like the one who does not show regard to that and does not accept Allah's guidance with which I have been sent."
O people of the Ansār, did I not find you in a state of misguidance then Allah guided you aright through me? Were you not divided then Allah brought you together through me? Were you not in a state of poverty then Allah made you wealthy through me?
‘Abdullāh ibn Zayd ibn ‘Āsim (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When Allah gave war booty to His Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of Hunayn, he distributed the booty among the people, and among those whose hearts had been recently reconciled to Islam. He did not give anything to the Ansār. It seemed that they felt uneasy that they did not receive a share like the others. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) addressed them saying: "O people of the Ansār, did I not find you in a state of misguidance then Allah guided you aright through me? Were you not in a state of disunity then Allah brought you together through me? Were you not in a state of poverty then Allah made you wealthy through me?" Every time he said something, they replied: "Allah and His Messenger are the most benevolent." Then he asked: "Why do you not answer me?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger are the most benevolent." He said: "If you wish, you may say 'you came to us in such-and-such a state.' Would you not be satisfied that the people go away with goats and camels and you go away with the Messenger of Allah to your homes? Were it not for Hijrah, I would have been a man from the Ansār. If the people were to tread a valley or a mountain pass, I would tread the valley and mountain pass of the Ansār. The Ansār are like Shi‘ār (inner garments), while other people are like Dithār (outer garments). No doubt, you will see people favored over you after me (in getting worldly benefits). So be patient until you meet me at the Basin)."

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand by the trunk of a date-palm tree while delivering the sermon. Abu Kabshah ‘Amr ibn Sa‘d (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I swear by Allah for three things which I am going to tell you about. Remember them well: The wealth of a man will not diminish by charity; Allah augments the honor of a man who endures an oppression patiently; and he who opens a gate of begging, Allah opens a gate of poverty (or he said a word similar to it)." He also said: "Remember well what I am going to tell you: The world is for four kinds of people. (1) One upon whom Allah has bestowed wealth and knowledge and so he fears his Lord in respect to them, maintains the ties of kinship, and acknowledges the rights of Allah on him; this type will have the best position. (2) One upon whom Allah has conferred knowledge but no wealth, and he is sincere in his intention and says: 'Had I possessed wealth, I would have acted like so-and-so.' He will be treated according to his intention, and his reward is the same as that of the other. (3) One whom Allah has given wealth but no knowledge and he squanders his wealth ignorantly, does not fear Allah in respect to it, does not discharge the obligations of kinship, and does not acknowledge the rights of Allah. Such a person will be in the worst position. (4) One upon whom Allah has bestowed neither wealth nor knowledge and he says: 'Had I possessed wealth, I would have acted like so-and-so (i.e. he would squander his wealth).' He will be treated according to his intention, and both will have equal sin."

Abu ’Umāmah al-Bāhili (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Two men were mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): one of them was a devout worshipper and the other a scholar. Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will facilitate for him a path to Paradise
Abu Ad-Dardā’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will facilitate for him a path to Paradise. Indeed, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge, out of pleasure at what he does. Verily, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even the fish in the water, ask forgiveness from Allah for the knowledgeable. The superiority of a scholar over a devout worshiper is like the superiority of the moon over the rest of the stars. Indeed, the scholars are the inheritors of the prophets, who bequeath neither dinar nor dirham, only knowledge. So whoever acquires it has actually taken abundant wealth."
If the slave draws closer to Me by a hand-span, I shall draw closer to him by a cubit; and if he draws closer to Me by a cubit, I shall draw closer to him by the span of two outstretched arms. If he comes to Me walking, I shall come to him running

Then ‘Uthmān sought permission to enter, so the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sat down and set right his clothes - Muhammad (one of the narrators) said: I do not say that it happened on the same day - and he (‘Uthmān) then entered and conversed with him. When he left, ‘Ā'ishah said: "Abu Bakr entered and you did not care and did not arrange your clothes, then ‘Umar entered and you did not care and did not arrange your clothes, then ‘Uthmān entered and you got up and set your clothes right!" Thereupon, he said: "Should I not feel shy of a man whom the angels feel shy of?"

Recite Surat al-Baqarah, for taking recourse to it is a blessing and abandoning it is a cause of grief, and magicians cannot confront it."
Allah selected Kinānah from the children of Isma‘īl, Quraysh from Kinānah, the children of Hāshim from Quraysh, and me from the children of Hāshim. He stayed at ‘Ā'ishah's house till he died there. ‘Ā'ishah added: "He died on the day of my turn in my house, and he was taken unto Allah while his head was between my chest and neck, and his saliva mixed with mine." ‘Ā'ishah then said: "‘Abdur-Rahmān ibn Abu Bakr came in carrying a tooth-stick that he was cleaning his teeth with. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) looked at it, so I said to him: 'O ‘Abdur-Rahmān, give me this tooth-stick.' He gave it to me and I cut it, chewed it (its end) and gave it to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) who cleaned his teeth with it while he was resting against my chest.”
Whoever meets Allah without associating anything with Him, no sin will harm him along with it; and whoever dies while associating partners with Him, no good deed will benefit him along with it
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever meets Allah without associating anything with Him, no sin will harm him along with it; and whoever dies while associating partners with Him, no good deed will benefit him along with it."
Allah Almighty does not sleep, and it is not befitting of Him to sleep
Abu Mūsa (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood among us and said five statements: "Allah Almighty does not sleep, and it is not befitting of Him to sleep. He lowers the Scales and raises them. The deeds done during the night are taken up to Him before the deeds done during the day, and the deeds done during the day before the deeds done during the night. His veil is light— and in another version: fire—and if He were to remove it, the glory of His Face would burn everything of His creation as far as His sight extends."
Indeed, I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of Allah
‘Ā’ishah, the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), reported: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) instructed his Companions to do something, he would command them only with what they were able to bear. They said: O Messenger of Allah, we are not like you; Allah has forgiven your past and future sins. He would then become angry until his anger would be visible on his face, and say: "Indeed, I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of Allah."

Keep some of your wealth, for this is better for you
Ka‘b ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I would like to give all of my wealth as a charity for the sake of Allah and His Messenger to make my repentance fully approved." The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep some of your wealth, for this is better for you."
"I am not weeping because I do not know that what Allah holds is better for the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), but I weep because the revelation from the sky has stopped." Her words moved them to tears and they began to weep along with her
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: After the Prophet's death, Abu Bakr said to ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them): "Let us visit Umm Ayman, just as the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit her." When they came to her, she wept. They said to her: "What makes you weep? Do you not know that what is with Allah is better for the Messenger of Allah?" She said: "I am not weeping because of not knowing that what is with Allah is better for the Messenger of Allah, but I weep because the revelation from the sky has stopped." Her words moved them to tears and they began to weep along with her.
Today, I shall be the gatekeeper of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and pushed the door and I said: "Who is it?" He said: "This is Abu Bakr." I said: "Wait, please." I went and said: "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr seeks permission to come in." He said: "Let him in and give him glad tidings of Paradise."
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he performed ablution in his house and then came out saying: "I would remain with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) the whole day long." He came to the mosque and asked about the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). They said: "He has gone in this direction." He (Abu Mūsa) said: "I followed his steps asking about him until I came to Bi'r Arīs (a well in the suburbs of Madīnah). I sat by its door until the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) had relieved himself and then performed ablution. I went to him and he was sitting at the well in the middle of its elevated edge with his shanks uncovered up to the knees and his legs dangling in that well. I greeted him then came back and sat at the door saying: 'Today, I shall be the gatekeeper of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him).' Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and pushed the door and I said: 'Who is it?' He said: 'This is Abu Bakr.' I said: 'Wait, please.' I went and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr seeks permission to come in.' He said: 'Let him in and give him glad tidings of Paradise.' I came and said to Abu Bakr: 'Come in, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gives you glad tidings of Paradise.' Abu Bakr went in and sat on the right side of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on the elevated edge and dangled his feet in the well just as the Messenger of Allah had done, and he uncovered his shanks. I then returned and sat there, and I had left my brother performing ablution and he was to meet me, and I said: 'If Allah intends goodness for so and so (meaning his brother), He would bring him here.' As I was thinking of this, someone moved the door. I said: 'Who is it?' He said: 'This is ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb.' I said: 'Wait, please.' Then, I went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, ‘Umar seeks permission to come in.' He said: 'Let him in and give him glad tidings of Paradise.' I came to ‘Umar and said: 'He gave permission, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gives you glad tidings of Paradise.' He went in and sat on the edge on the left side of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and dangled his feet in the well. I then returned and sat and said: 'If Allah intends goodness for so and so (meaning his brother), He would bring him here.' Then, another person came and moved the door and I said: 'Who is it?' He said: 'This is ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Affān.' I said: 'Wait, please.' I then came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and told him, so he said: 'Let him in and give him glad tidings of Paradise along with an affliction that will befall him.' I came and said: 'Come in and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gives you glad tidings of Paradise along with an affliction that will befall you.' He went in and saw that the edge of the well was fully occupied so he sat on the other side facing them." Sa‘īd ibn al-Musayyib said: "I interpreted this (order of sitting) as the way their graves would be arranged." Another version has the following addition: "and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to guard the door." It also says that when ‘Uthmān was given glad tidings of Paradise and an affliction, he said: "Praise be to Allah" and then said: "Allah helps!"
Whenever reinforcements from the people of Yemen came to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him), he would ask them: Is Uways ibn ‘Āmir amongst you?
Usayr ibn ‘Amr (another said Ibn Jābir) reported: Whenever reinforcements from the people of Yemen came to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) he would ask them: "Is Uways ibn ‘Āmir amongst you?" This continued till he met Uways (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him: "Are you Uways ibn ‘Āmir?" He said: ‘Yes.’ ‘Umar asked: "Are you from the Qarn branch of the tribe of Murād?" He said: ‘Yes.’ He further asked: "Did you suffer from leprosy and then you were cured but for the spot of a dirham?" He said: ‘Yes.’ Then, he asked: "Is your mother still alive?" He said: ‘Yes.’ ‘Umar said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'There would come to you Uways ibn ‘Āmir with reinforcements from the people of Yemen. He would be from Qarn, of Murād. He had been suffering from leprosy from which he was cured but for the spot of a dirham. He has a mother to whom he is dutiful. If he were to take an oath in the name of Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath. If it is possible for you, ask him to ask forgiveness for you.' So, ask forgiveness for me." He asked forgiveness for him. ‘Umar asked: "Where do you intend to go?" He said: "To Kufah." He said: "Shall I write a letter for you to its governor." Uways said: "It is dearer to me to live amongst the poor people." The following year, a person from among the elite (of Kufah) performed Hajj and met ‘Umar, who asked him about Uways. The man replied: "I left him in an old house and with little means of sustenance." Thereupon, ‘Umar said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'There would come to you Uways ibn ‘Āmir with reinforcements from the people of Yemen. He would be from Qarn, of Murād. He had been suffering from leprosy from which he was cured but for the spot of a dirham. He has a mother to whom he is dutiful. If he were to take an oath in the name of Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath. If it is possible for you, ask him to ask forgiveness for you.'" So, the man went to Uways and asked him to ask forgiveness for him. Uways said to him: "You have just returned from a blessed journey; so, it is you who should ask forgiveness for me." Then, he asked: "Did you meet ‘Umar?" The man said: ‘Yes.’ Uways asked forgiveness for him. Hence, the people recognized the status of Uways, and so he quickly went away from that place. In another narration also reported by Usayr ibn Jābir: "A delegation from Kufah came to ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Among them was a man who used to mock Uways. ‘Umar asked: 'Is there anyone among you who is from Qarn?' This man stepped forward. Then, ‘Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'A man will come to you from Yemen named Uways. He will be leaving in Yemen none but his mother. He was suffering from leucoderma and supplicated Allah, the Exalted, Who cured him from it except for a space the size of a dinar or dirham. Whoever of you meets him should ask him to ask forgiveness for you.'" Another narration reported by him reads: "‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The best one among the Tābi‘is is a man called Uways. He has a mother and was suffering from leucoderma. So, ask him to ask forgiveness for you.'"
Never have I heard ‘Umar saying about something: I think it to be so-and-so, but it proved to be as he had thought
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Never have I heard ‘Umar saying about something: "I think it to be so-and-so", but it proved to be as he had thought.
The finest form of dutifulness is maintaining relations with those whom one’s father loved
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man from the Bedouins met him on his way to Makkah. ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar greeted him, made him ride on a donkey that he was riding, and gave him a turban that was wrapped around his head. Ibn Dinār said: "We said to him: 'May Allah grant you righteousness! These people are Bedouins and they are pleased with much less.'" ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar said: "This man’s father was a dear friend of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) and I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The finest form of dutifulness is maintaining relations with those whom one’s father loved.'" In another narration by Ibn Dinār, he reported that when Ibn ‘Umar set out to Makkah, he kept a donkey with him that he would ride when he became tired of riding his camel, and had a turban that he would tie around his head. One day, while he was riding this donkey, a Bedouin passed by him. Ibn ‘Umar asked him: "Aren’t you so and so the son of so and so?" He said: 'Yes.' So he gave him his donkey and said: "Ride this," and he gave him his turban and said: "Tie this around your head." Some of his companions said to him: "May Allah forgive you! You gave this Bedouin a donkey that you would rest on, and a turban that you would tie your head with?" He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The finest form of dutifulness is maintaining relations with those whom one’s father loved after his death”, and his father was a friend of ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).
Some people came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Send with us some men to teach us the Qur'an and the Sunnah." So he sent to them seventy men from the Ansār who were called "the reciters"; among them was my maternal uncle Harām
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Some people came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Send with us some men to teach us the Qur'an and the Sunnah." So he sent to them seventy men from the Ansār who were called "the reciters"; among them was my maternal uncle Harām. They used to recite the Qur'an and collectively study it and discuss its meaning at night. In the day they used to bring water and pour it into containers in the mosque, and they would collect firewood and sell it. With the sale proceeds of the wood they would buy food for the people of Suffah and the needy. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent these reciters with the people who asked but they treacherously attacked them and killed them before they reached their destination. (While dying) they supplicated: "O Allah, convey to our Prophet on our behalf that we have met You in a way that we are pleased with You and You are pleased with us." (The narrator said) A man attacked Harām, Anas's uncle, from behind and stabbed him with a spear piercing him, whereupon Harām said: "By the Lord of the Ka‘bah, I have won!" Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "Your brothers have been slain and they said: "O Allah, convey to our Prophet on our behalf that we have met You in a way that we are pleased with You and You are pleased with us."
Allah, the Almighty, ordered me to read to you {Those who disbelieve among the People of the Book and the Polytheists were not going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them Clear Evidence.} [Sūrat al-Bayyinah: 98]
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to Ubay ibn Ka‘b (may Allah be pleased with him): "Allah, the Almighty, ordered me to read to you {Those who disbelieve among the People of the Book and the Polytheists were not going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them the Clear Evidence.} [Sūrat al-Bayyinah: 98]" Ubay asked: "Did He (Allah) name me?" The Messenger of Allah replied: 'Yes.' So Ubay cried. In another narration: "So Ubay started to cry."
If a slave serves his master sincerely and worships Allah properly, he will have a double reward
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'If a slave serves his master sincerely and worships Allah properly, he will have a double reward.'" Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A slave who worships his Lord properly and discharges his duties towards his master, and is sincere and obedient to him will get a double reward."
No son can repay the kindness of his father unless he finds him a slave and buys him and emancipates him
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No son can repay the kindness of his father unless he finds him a slave and buys him and emancipates him."
O Sa‘d ibn Mu‘ādh, the Paradise, by the Lord of the Ka‘bah, I smell the fragrance of Paradise near Mount Uhud
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: My uncle Anas ibn An-Nadr (may Allah be pleased with him) did not take part in the battle of Badr; so he said: "O Messenger of Allah, I was absent from the first battle you fought against the polytheists. If Allah give me a chance to fight them, no doubt, Allah will show how (bravely) I will fight." So, on the day of the battle of Uhud, when the Muslims left their posts and were defeated, he said: "O Allah, I apologize to You for what these (i.e. his companions) have done, and I denounce what these (i.e. the polytheists) have done." Then he advanced with his sword and met Sa‘d ibn Mu‘ādh passing in front of him so he said to him: 'O Sa‘d ibn Mu‘ādh, the Paradise, by the Lord of the Ka‘bah, I smell the fragrance of Paradise near Mount Uhud." Sa‘d later said: "O Messenger of Allah, what he did was beyond my power." Anas said: "We found on his body over eighty wounds caused by swords, spears, and arrows. He was killed and mutilated by the polytheists to the extent that no one was able to recognize him except his sister, from his fingertips. We believe that the Qur'anic verse: {Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration} [Sūrat al-Ahzāb: 23] refers to him and the likes of him."
Well-done! That is a profitable deal! That is a profitable deal! I heard what you said: and I suggest that you give it to your nearest relatives
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) was the richest man among the Ansār in Madīnah, in terms of his ownership of date palms. And his most beloved property was (his date-palm garden known as) Bayrahā’. It was opposite the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) often entered it and drank from its fresh water. When this verse was revealed: {Never will you attain the good (reward) until you spend (in the way of Allah) from that which you love} [Sūrat Āl-‘Imrān: 92], Abu Talhah came to the Messenger of Allah and said: "O Messenger of Allah, Allah revealed to you {Never will you attain the good (reward) until you spend (in the way of Allah) from that which you love}, and my most beloved possession is Bayrahā’. I have given it in charity in the way of Allah, hoping to earn its reward from Him, so spend it, O Messenger of Allah, as Allah shows you." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Well-done! That is a profitable deal! That is a profitable deal! I heard what you said: and I suggest that you give it to your nearest relatives." So Abu Talhah said: "I shall do that, O Messenger of Allah", and he distributed it amongst his closest relatives and his paternal cousins.
The people of Kufa complained to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb about their governor Sa‘d. He dismissed him and appointed ‘Ammār as their governor
Jābir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The people of Kufa complained to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) about their governor Sa‘d (ibn Abi Waqqās) (may Allah be pleased with him). He dismissed him and appointed ‘Ammār as their governor. They lodged many complaints against Sa‘d and even alleged that Sa‘d does not know how to perform the prayers properly. ‘Umar sent for him and said: "O Abu Is'hāq, those people claim that you do not pray properly." He replied: "By Allah, I used to lead them in prayer exactly as I learnt from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). I prolong the first two Rak‘ahs of the ‘Ishā' prayer and shorten the last two." ‘Umar then said: "That is what I thought of you, O Abu Is'hāq." Then he sent a man (or more) with him to Kufa to ask the people about him. This man went there and did not leave any mosque without asking about Sa‘d. All the people praised him till he came to the mosque of the tribe of Banu ‘Abs; where a man called Usāmah ibn Qatādah, with a surname of Abu Sa‘d, stood up and said: "Since you asked, I am bound to tell you that Sa‘d never marched with the armies, nor did he ever divide the spoils of war fairly, nor was he ever fair in delivering justice regarding legal verdicts." This complaint reached Sa‘d and he said: "By Allah, I shall make three supplications: O Allah, if this slave of Yours is a liar and got up for showing off and speaking boastfully, then prolong his life, make him poor for the rest of his life, and afflict him with trials." This person suffered, following the invocation of Sa‘d and would tell people he was an old man subjected to trials because of Sa‘d’s invocation. ‘Abd al-Malik ibn ‘Umayr, who narrated from Jābir ibn Samurah, said: "I saw this man afterwards in such a state that his eyebrows were shaggy and had fallen over his eyelids, because of old age; and he used to wink at young girls as they pass by in the roads.”
‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) allocated a sum of four thousand dirhams for each of the early Muhājirūn
Nafi‘ reported that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) allocated a sum of four thousand dirhams for each of the early Muhājirūn, but for his son, he allocated three thousand five hundred. He was asked: "He is also a Muhājir, so why did you allocate a lesser sum for him?" He said: "It was his father who took him along with him. He is not like one who emigrated by himself."
By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if your state of mind remains the same as it is in my presence and you are always busy in Dhikr, the angels will shake hands with you in your beds and in your paths but, Hanzhalah, time and time
Abu Rib‘i Hanzhalah ibn Ar-Rabī‘ al-Usaydi, one of the scribes of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) reported: I met Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and he said: 'How are you?' I said: 'Hanzhalah has turned into a hypocrite.' He said: 'Glory be to Allah, what are you saying?' I said: 'When we are in the company of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), he reminds us of Paradise and Hellfire as if we are seeing them with our very eyes, and when we depart from his company, we attend to our wives, children, and business, and we forget much of that.' Abu Bakr said: 'By Allah, we do experience the same.' So I and Abu Bakr went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Hanzhalah has turned into a hypocrite.' Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'And how is that?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, when we are in your company, you remind us of Hellfire and Paradise as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, then when we depart from you we attend to our wives, children, and business, and we forget much of that.' Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if your state of mind remains the same as it is in my presence and you are always busy in remembrance (of Allah), the angels will shake hands with you in your beds and in your paths but, Hanzhalah, time (should be devoted to prayer and meditation) and time (should be devoted to worldly affairs).' He said this thrice."
The story of the death of Az-Zubayr ibn al-‘Awwām (may Allah be pleased with him) and paying off his debt
Abu Khubayb ‘Abdullāh ibn Az-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When Az-Zubayr got up during the battle of Al-Jamal, he called me and I stood up beside him, and he said to me: "O my son, today one will be killed either as an oppressor or as an oppressed one. I see that I will be killed as an oppressed one. My biggest worry is my debts. Do you think that anything will be left of our property after the debts are settled?" Then he said: "O my son, sell our property and pay my debts." He then willed (bequeathed) one-third of his property and willed one-third of that portion to ‘Abdullāh's sons. He said: "One-third of the one third. If any property is left after the settlement of the debts, one-third (of the one-third of what is left) is to be given to your sons." (Hisham, a sub-narrator, said: "Some of the sons of ‘Abdullāh were equal in age to the sons of Az-Zubayr, like Khubayb and ‘Abbād. ‘Abdullāh had nine sons and nine daughters at that time.") ‘Abdullāh added: "He (Az-Zubayr) went on advising me regarding his debts, saying: 'If you should fail to settle part of the debts, appeal to my Master to help you.' By Allah! I could not understand what he meant till I asked, 'O father, who is your Master?' He replied: 'Allah (is my Master).' By Allah, whenever I had any difficulty regarding his debts, I would say: 'O Master of Az-Zubayr, settle his debts on his behalf,' and Allah would (help me to) settle it. Az-Zubayr was martyred leaving no dinar or dirham except for land and property, including a land which was (called) Al-Ghāba, and eleven houses in Madīnah, two in Basra, one in Kufa and one in Egypt. The source of the debt which he owed was, that if somebody brought some money to deposit with him, Az-Zubayr would say: 'No, (I won't keep it as a trust) but I take it as a debt, for I am afraid it might be lost.' Az-Zubayr was never appointed governor or collector of the tax of Kharaj or any other similar thing, but he collected his wealth (from the war booty he gained) during the holy battles he took part in, in the company of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthmān (may Allah be pleased with them). When I counted his debt, it turned out to be two million and two hundred thousand." (The sub-narrator added:) Hakīm ibn Hizam met ‘Abdullāh ibn Az-Zubayr and asked him: "O my nephew, how much is the debt of my brother?" ‘Abdullāh did not reveal the exact amount and said: "One hundred thousand." Hakīm said: "By Allah! I don't think your property will cover it." Upon that, ‘Abdullāh said to him: "What if I told you that it is two million and two hundred thousand?" Hakīm said: "I don't think you can repay it; so if you are unable to repay all of it, I will help you." Az-Zubayr had bought Al-Ghāba for one hundred and seventy thousand. ‘Abdullāh sold it for one million and six hundred thousand. Then he called out to the people saying: "Any person who has any money claim on Az-Zubayr should come to us in Al-Ghāba." There came to him ‘Abdullāh ibn Ja‘far whom Az-Zubayr owed four hundred thousand. He said to ‘Abdullāh, "If you wish I will forgo the debt." ‘Abdullāh said: 'No.' Then Ibn Ja‘far said: "If you wish you can defer repayment if you are going to defer the repayment of any debt." ‘Abdullāh said: 'No.' Ibn Ja‘far said: "Then give me a piece of the land." ‘Abdullāh said (to him): "Yours is the land extending from this place to this place." So, ‘Abdullāh sold most of the land and settled the debt perfectly, with four and a half shares remaining unsold from the land of Al-Ghāba. He then went to Mu‘āwiyah while ‘Amr ibn ‘Uthmān, Al-Mundhir ibn Az-Zubayr and Ibn Zam‘ah were sitting with him. Mu‘āwiyah asked: "At what price have you appraised Al-Ghāba?" He said: "One hundred thousand for each share." Mu‘āwiyah asked: "How many shares are left?" ‘Abdullāh replied: "Four and a half shares." Al-Mundhir ibn Az-Zubayr said: "I would like to buy one share for one hundred thousand." ‘Amr ibn ‘Uthmān said: "I would like to buy one share for one hundred thousand." Ibn Zam‘ah said: "I would like to buy one share for one hundred thousand." Mu‘āwiyah said: "How much is left now?" ‘Abdullāh replied: "One share and a half." Mu‘āwiyah said: "I would like to buy it for one hundred and fifty thousand." ‘Abdullāh ibn Ja‘far then sold his share to Mu‘āwiyah for six hundred thousand. When ‘Abdullāh ibn Az-Zubayr had paid all the debts, Az-Zubayr's other sons said to him, "Distribute our inheritance among us." He said: "No, by Allah, I will not distribute it among you till I announce in four successive Hajj seasons: 'Would those who have money claims on Az-Zubayr come so that we may repay them." So, he started to announce that in public in every Hajj season, and when four years had elapsed, he distributed the inheritance among the heirs. Az-Zubayr had four wives, and after the one-third of his property was excluded (according to the will), each of his wives received one million and two hundred thousand. So the total amount of his property was fifty million and two hundred thousand.

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the people of Yemen came, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There have come to you the people of Yemen." They were the first to bring the (practice of) handshake.
People are precious metals, like the metals gold and silver. The best of them in the pre-Islamic period are the best of them in Islam, if they understand. Souls are conscripted soldiers, whichever of them come together, they unite and whichever of them disregard each other, they diverge
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People are precious metals, like the metals gold and silver. The best of them in the pre-Islamic period are the best of them in Islam, if they understand. Souls are conscripted soldiers, whichever of them come together, they unite and whichever of them disregard each other, they diverge." Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: ''You find people like metal; the best of them in the pre-Islamic era are the best of them in Islam, if they understand. And you find the best of people in this matter are those who detest it most. And you find the most evil of people are the two-faced; the ones who come to these with one face and to those with another.''
The angels continue to shade him with their wings
Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: My father's mutilated body was brought to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and placed in front of him. I went to uncover his face but my people stopped me. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels continue to shade him with their wings."
While three persons were walking, rain began to fall and they had to enter a cave in a mountain. A (big) rock rolled over (and blocked the mouth of the cave)
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "While three persons were walking, rain began to fall and they had to enter a cave in a mountain. A (big) rock rolled over (and blocked the mouth of the cave). They said to one another: 'Invoke Allah with the best deed you have performed.' One of them said: 'O Allah, my parents were old, and I used to go out for grazing (my camels), and on my return, I would milk (the camels) and take the milk to my parents to drink. After that, I would give it to my children, family, and wife. One day, I got delayed, and as I returned home, I found my parents asleep, and I disliked to awaken them. The children were crying near my feet (out of hunger), and they continued like that till dawn. O Allah, if You know that I did this for Your sake, remove this rock a bit so that we may see the sky.' So the rock was moved a bit. The second man said: 'O Allah, You know that I loved a cousin of mine with the deepest love that a man might have for a woman, and she told me that I would not get my desire fulfilled unless I paid her one hundred dinars. I struggled until I could gather the required amount, and when I sat in between her legs, she said: 'Fear Allah, and do not deflower me except lawfully.' Thereupon, I got up and left her. O Allah, If You know that I did this for Your sake, remove this rock a bit.' So two thirds of the rock was moved. Then the third man said: 'O Allah, You know that I once hired a worker for one Faraq (a measure equal to 16 pounds) of maize, and when I wanted to pay him, he refused to take his wages; so I cultivated it and bought cows and a shepherd from its yield; and after a period of time, that man came and said: 'O slave of Allah, give me my right.' I said to him: ‘Go to those cows and the shepherd and take them, for they yours.’ He said: ‘Are you mocking me?’ I said to him: ‘I am not mocking you; but they belong to you.’ O Allah, If You know that I did this for Your sake, remove the rock.' So the rock was removed."
Indeed, Allah has put the truth upon the tongue and in the heart of ‘Umar
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah has put the truth upon the tongue and in the heart of ‘Umar." Ibn ‘Umar added: "Never did something occur among people, regarding which they judged and ‘Umar judged, except that the Qur’an was revealed about it in line with what ‘Umar had said."
Jibrīl brought ‘Ā’ishah’s image in a piece of green silk to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: This is your wife in the world and the Hereafter

Verily, Ibrahīm is my son and he died as a suckling infant, and, verily, he has two wet nurses in Paradise completing his suckling period
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I have never seen anyone more merciful to children than the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). (His son) Ibrahīm was sent to a wet nurse on the outskirts of Madīnah. So he used to go there, and we would accompany him, and he would enter the house, which was filled with smoke for Ibrahīm's foster father was a blacksmith, and he would take Ibrahīm and kiss him then return." ‘Amr said: "When Ibrahīm died, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Ibrahīm is my son, and he died as a suckling infant, and, verily, he has two wet nurses in Paradise completing his suckling period.'"

Az-Zubayr ibn al-‘Awwām (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that on the Day of (the battle of) Uhud, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) wore two coats of mail. He tried to rise over a boulder, but he could not. Then Talhah bowed down and lifted the Prophet, so he could settle on the boulder. He (Az-Zubayr) then heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "It (Paradise) is obligatory for Talhah."
Among Allah's slaves, there are some who, if they take an oath by Allah (concerning something), Allah fulfills it
Anas reported that his aunt, Ar-Rubayyi‘, broke the incisor of a girl. The aunt's family requested the girl's relatives for pardon, but they refused, then they proposed a compensation, but they refused. Then they went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and refused everything except retribution. So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) judged that retribution be applied. Anas ibn An-Nadr said: "O Messenger of Allah, will the incisor of Ar-Rubayyi‘ be broken? No, by the One Who sent you with the Truth, her incisor will not be broken." Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Anas, the prescribed law of Allah is retribution." Thereupon, those people agreed on pardon. Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among Allah's slaves, there are some who, if they take an oath by Allah (concerning something), Allah fulfills it."

When a Muslim—or a believer—performs ablution, and he washes his face, every sin he has looked at with his eyes comes out of his face with the water or with the last drop of water
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a Muslim—or a believer—performs ablution, and he washes his face, every sin he has looked at with his eyes comes out of his face with the water or with the last drop of water. When he washes his hands, every sin he has struck with his hands comes out of his hands with the water or with the last drop of water. When he washes his feet, every sin his feet walked towards comes out with the water or with the last drop of water—until he comes out cleansed of sins."
Has Allah not provided for you that which you can give as charity? Every Tasbīh (saying: Glory be to Allah) is charity; every Takbīr (saying: Allah is the Greatest) is charity; every Tahmīd (saying: Praise be to Allah) is charity; and every Tahlīl (saying: There is no God but Allah) is charity. Enjoining good is charity, forbidding evil is charity, and even in fulfilling the sexual desire of one of you there is charity
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Some of the Companions of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy have taken all the rewards. They pray as we pray, fast as we fast, and give charity from their surplus wealth. He said: "Has Allah not provided for you that which you can give as charity? Every Tasbīh (saying: Glory be to Allah) is charity; every Takbīr (saying: Allah is the Greatest) is charity; every Tahmīd (saying: Praise be to Allah) is charity; and every Tahlīl (saying: There is no God but Allah) is charity. Enjoining good is charity, forbidding evil is charity, and even in fulfilling the sexual desire of one of you there is charity." They said: O Messenger of Allah, does one of us fulfill his desire and get rewarded for it? He said: "Do you not see that if he were to fulfill it in a forbidden way, would he incur a sin? Similarly, if he fulfills it lawfully, he will have a reward."
Whoever relieves a believer from one of the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him from one of the hardships of the Day of Judgment
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever relieves a believer from one of the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him from one of the hardships of the Day of Judgment. Whoever makes things easy for someone in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever covers a Muslim, Allah will cover him in this world and the Hereafter. Allah is in the aid of the slave as long as the slave is in the aid of his brother. Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No group of people gather in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy envelops them, the angels surround them, and Allah mentions them to those near Him. And whoever is slowed down by his deeds will not be hastened forward by his lineage."
O people, repent to Allah, for I repent to Him one hundred times a day

May Allah brighten the person who hears something from us and conveys it as he heard it, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed is more mindful than the hearer

I said: O Messenger of Allah, to whom should I be dutiful? he said: "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then the next in nearness and so on
Bahz ibn Hakīm reported from his father from his grandfather that he said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, to whom should I be dutiful? he said: "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then the next in nearness and so on."
Were people to know what is in the call and the first row and then they could do nothing but to draw lots for it, they would draw lots
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Were people to know what is in the call and the first row and then they could do nothing but to draw lots for it, they would draw lots. Were they to know what is in performing the prayer early, they would race to it. Were they to know what is in the darkness and the morning, they would come to them even if they had to crawl."
