Adorn the Qur'an with your voices
Al-Barā' ibn ‘Āzib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Adorn the Qur'an with your voices."
they would listen to ten verses from the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and not move to the next ten verses until they learned the knowledge and application contained therein
‘Abdur-Rahmān as-Sulami (may Allah have mercy upon him) reported: Those who used to recite the Qur’an to us from among the Prophet's Companions related to us that they would listen to ten verses from the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and not move to the next ten verses until they learned the knowledge and application contained therein. They said: So, we learned knowledge and application.
ترجيع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
عن معاوية بن قرة عن عبد الله بن مغفل المزني، قال: «رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم الفتح على ناقة له يقرأ سورة الفتح -أو من سورة الفتح-» قال: فرجَّع فيها، قال: ثم قرأ معاوية: يحكي قراءة ابن مغفل، وقال: لولا أن يجتمع الناس عليكم لرجَّعتُ كما رجَّع ابن مغفل، يحكي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقلت لمعاوية: كيف كان ترجيعه؟ قال: آآآ ثلاث مرات.
Anas was asked: How was the recitation of the Prophet (ﷺ)? He replied: "It was with Madd (elongation)
Qatādah reported: Anas was asked: How was the recitation of the Prophet (ﷺ)? He replied: "It was with Madd (elongation)." Then he recited: {In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful} [Surat al-Fātihah: 1] while extending the pronunciation of {In the Name of Allah,} and extending {the Most Compassionate}, and extending {the Most Merciful}.
that she was asked about the recitation of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
Abu Mulaykah reported: It was narrated from one of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ)—He said: Abu ‘Āmir said: Nāfi‘ said: I think it was Hafsah— that she was asked about the recitation of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). She said: You would not be able to do it. He said: It was said to her: Tell us about it. So she recited with a slow, measured recitation. Abu ‘Āmir said: Nāfi‘ said: Ibn Abi Mulaykah then imitated her recitation, saying: {All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds} [Surat al-Fātihah: 2]—then he paused—{the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful} [Surat al-Fātihah: 3]—then he paused—{Master of the Day of Judgment}.
لحبرت لك تحبيرا
عن أنس رضي الله عنه أن أبا موسى رضي الله عنه كان يقرأ ذات ليلة فمشى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يسمع فلما أصبح قيل له قال: لو علمتُ لحبَّرتُ لك تحبيرًا ولشوَّقتُ لك تشويقًا.
