Rebelling against the Muslim Ruler

We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to listen and obey at times of hardship and ease, energy and reluctance, and to endure if prejudice is held against us
‘Ubādah ibn as-Sāmit (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to listen and obey at times of hardship and ease, energy and reluctance, and to endure if prejudice is held against us, and not to fight those in authority for power, and to say the truth wherever we are, without fearing anyone's reproach for the sake of Allah.
There shall be rulers in charge of you, and you will approve and disapprove. So anyone who approves (their good deeds) shall be absolved, and anyone who forbids (their bad deeds) shall be safe, except for those who are content and comply
’Umm Salamah, the Mother of the Believers, (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There shall be rulers in charge of you, and you will approve and disapprove. So anyone who approves (their good deeds) shall be absolved, and anyone who forbids (their bad deeds) shall be safe, except for those who are content and comply." They said: ''Shall we not fight them?'' He replied: "No, so long as they offer the prayer."
Whoever gives up obedience and isolates from the community and dies has died a death like that of jāhiliyyah (the pre-Islamic era of ignorance)
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever gives up obedience and isolates from the community and dies has died a death like that of jāhiliyyah (the pre-Islamic era of ignorance). Whoever fights under a blind banner, getting flared up for his people's pride, calling to fight for the sake of his people's pride or in support of his people's pride, and gets killed, his killing is like that of jāhiliyyah. Whoever revolts against my Ummah, killing the righteous and the wicked of them, not avoiding the believers among them and not fulfilling a covenant with those with whom he has made covenants, he does not belong to me, and I do not belong to him."
If someone comes to you seeking to undermine your solidarity or disrupt your unity when you have agreed on one man, kill him
‘Arfajah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: "If someone comes to you seeking to undermine your solidarity or disrupt your unity when you have agreed on one man, kill him."
Be patient, for no time will come but will be followed by a worse one until you meet your Lord
Az-Zubayr ibn ‘Adiyy reported: We went to Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) and complained to him about the oppression we were suffering at the hands of Al-Hajjāj. So, Anas said: "Be patient, for no time will come but will be followed by a worse one until you meet your Lord. I heard it from your Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)."
خيار أئمتكم الذين تحبونهم ويحبونكم ويصلون عليكم وتصلون عليهم
عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «خِيَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَكُمْ، وَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَتُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَشِرَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُبْغِضُونَهُمْ وَيُبْغِضُونَكُمْ، وَتَلْعَنُونَهُمْ وَيَلْعَنُونَكُمْ»، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَفَلَا نُنَابِذُهُمْ بِالسَّيْفِ؟ فَقَالَ: «لَا، مَا أَقَامُوا فِيكُمُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مِنْ وُلَاتِكُمْ شَيْئًا تَكْرَهُونَهُ، فَاكْرَهُوا عَمَلَهُ، وَلَا تَنْزِعُوا يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَةٍ».
إذا بويع لخليفتين فاقتلوا الآخر منهما
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا بُويِعَ لِخَلِيفَتَيْنِ فَاقْتُلُوا الْآخِرَ مِنْهُمَا».
ستكون أمراء، فتعرفون وتنكرون، فمن عرف برئ، ومَن أنكر سلم، ولكن من رضي وتابع
عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «سَتَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ فَتَعْرِفُونَ وَتُنْكِرُونَ، فَمَنْ عَرَفَ بَرِئَ، وَمَنْ أَنْكَرَ سَلِمَ، وَلَكِنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ» قَالُوا: أَفَلَا نُقَاتِلُهُمْ؟ قَالَ: «لَا، مَا صَلَّوْا».
أخبرنا عن مسيرك هذا
عن قيس بن عُباد، قال: قلت لعلي: أخبرنا عن مَسيرِكَ هذا، أعَهْدٌ عَهِدهَ إليك رسولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أم رأيٌ رأيتَه؟ فقال: ما عَهِدَ إلىَّ رسولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بشيءٍ، ولكنَّه رأيٌ رأيتُه.
يهلك الناسَ هذا الحيُّ من قريش
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «يُهلِكُ الناسَ هذا الحيُّ من قريشٍ» قالوا: فما تأمرنا؟ قال: «لو أن الناس اعتَزَلُوهم».
إن الله أمر يحيى بن زكريا بخمس كلمات
عن الحارث الأشعري أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: (إن الله أمر يحيى بن زكريا بخمس كلمات أن يعمل بها ويأمر بني إسرائيل أن يعملوا بها، وإنه كاد أن يبطئ بها، فقال عيسى: إن الله أمرك بخمس كلمات لتعمل بها وتأمر بني إسرائيل أن يعملوا بها، فإما أن تأمرهم، وإما أنا آمرهم، فقال يحيى: أخشى إن سبقتني بها أن يخسف بي أو أعذب، فجمع الناس في بيت المقدس، فامتلأ المسجد وقعدوا على الشرف، فقال: إن الله أمرني بخمس كلمات أن أعمل بهن، وآمركم أن تعملوا بهن: أولهن أن تعبدوا الله ولا تشركوا به شيئا، وإن مثل من أشرك بالله كمثل رجل اشترى عبدا من خالص ماله بذهب أو ورق، فقال: هذه داري وهذا عملي فاعمل وأد إلي، فكان يعمل ويؤدي إلى غير سيده، فأيكم يرضى أن يكون عبده كذلك؟ وإن الله أمركم بالصلاة، فإذا صليتم فلا تلتفتوا، فإن الله ينصب وجهه لوجه عبده في صلاته ما لم يلتفت، وآمركم بالصيام، فإن مثل ذلك كمثل رجل في عصابة معه صرة فيها مسك، فكلهم يعجب أو يعجبه ريحها، وإن ريح الصائم أطيب عند الله من ريح المسك، وآمركم بالصدقة فإن مثل ذلك كمثل رجل أسره العدو، فأوثقوا يده إلى عنقه وقدموه ليضربوا عنقه، فقال: أنا أفديه منكم بالقليل والكثير، ففدى نفسه منهم، وآمركم أن تذكروا الله فإن مثل ذلك كمثل رجل خرج العدو في أثره سراعا حتى إذا أتى على حصن حصين فأحرز نفسه منهم، كذلك العبد لا يحرز نفسه من الشيطان إلا بذكر الله)، قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: (وأنا آمركم بخمس الله أمرني بهن، السمع والطاعة والجهاد والهجرة والجماعة، فإنه من فارق الجماعة قيد شبر فقد خلع ربقة الإسلام من عنقه إلا أن يرجع، ومن ادعى دعوى الجاهلية فإنه من جثا جهنم، فقال رجل: يا رسول الله وإن صلى وصام؟ قال: وإن صلى وصام، فادْعُوا بدعوى الله الذي سماكم المسلمين المؤمنين، عباد الله).
Indeed, there will be trials. There will come a trial in which the one sitting in it will be better than the one walking towards it, and the one walking towards it will be better than the one rushing to it
‘Uthmān ash-Shahhām reported: I and Farqad as-Sabakhi went to Muslim ibn Abi Bakrah while he was in his land. We entered upon him and said: Did you hear your father narrating any Hadīth about the trials? He said: Yes, I heard Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrating, saying: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, there will be trials. There will come a trial in which the one sitting in it will be better than the one walking towards it, and the one walking towards it will be better than the one rushing to it. If it happens or occurs, whoever has camels, let him catch up with his camels, whoever has sheep, let him catch up with his sheep, and whoever has land, let him go to his land." He said: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, what about the one who has neither camels, nor sheep, nor land? He said: "Let him take his sword and strike its edge with a stone, and then escape if he could escape. O Allah, have I conveyed? O Allah, have I conveyed? O Allah, have I conveyed?" He said: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, what if I am compelled and taken to one of the two sides, or one of the two groups, and a man strikes me with his sword, or an arrow comes and kills me? He said: "He will bear his sin and your sin, and he will be among the dwellers of Hellfire."
