Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give us a reminder every Thursday
Shaqīq ibn Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) reported: Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give us a reminder every Thursday. A man said to him: "O Abu ‘Abdur-Rahmān, we would like for you to give us a reminder every day!" He said: "What prevents me from doing so is that I dislike to bore you. I give you an admonition every now and then, just as the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was giving them to us, out of fear that we might become bored."
I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he was giving a sermon
Abu Rifā‘ah Tamīm ibn Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) while he was giving a sermon, and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, a stranger (meaning himself) has come to inquire about his religion. He is quite ignorant about his religion." So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) interrupted his sermon and came to me. A chair was brought for him and he sat on it and started teaching me of what Allah has taught him. Then he resumed his sermon and completed it.
كان نبيُّ الله -صلَّى الله عليه وسلم- يُحدِّثنا عن بني إسرائيلَ حتى يُصبحَ
عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال: كان نبيُّ الله -صلَّى الله عليه وسلم- يُحدِّثنا عن بني إسرائيلَ حتى يُصبحَ، ما يقومُ إلا إلى عُظمِ صلاة.
أي الكفن خير
عن يوسف بن ماهك، قال: إني عند عائشة أم المؤمنين رضي الله عنها، إذ جاءها عراقي، فقال: أي الكفن خير؟ قالت: ويحك، وما يضرك؟ قال: يا أم المؤمنين، أريني مصحفك؟ قالت: لم؟ قال: لعلي أولف القرآن عليه، فإنه يقرأ غير مؤلف، قالت: وما يضرك أيه قرأت قبل؟ إنما نزل أول ما نزل منه سورة من المفصل، فيها ذكر الجنة والنار، حتى إذا ثاب الناس إلى الإسلام نزل الحلال والحرام، ولو نزل أول شيء: لا تشربوا الخمر، لقالوا: لا ندع الخمر أبدا، ولو نزل: لا تزنوا، لقالوا: لا ندع الزنا أبدًا، لقد نزل بمكة على محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وإني لجارية ألعب: {بل الساعة موعدهم والساعة أدهى وأمر} [القمر: 46] وما نزلت سورة البقرة والنساء إلا وأنا عنده، قال: فأخرجت له المصحف، فأملت عليه آي السور.
