When a man loves his brother, he should tell him that he loves him
Al-Miqdām ibn Ma‘di Karib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man loves his brother, he should tell him that he loves him."
Do you know what backbiting is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "It is to say of your brother what he dislikes
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what backbiting is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "It is to say of your brother what he dislikes." It was said: "What do you think if what I say of my brother is true?" He said: "If what you say of him is true, you have backbitten him; and if not, you have slandered him."
Who is that who swears that I will not forgive so-and-so? Indeed, I have forgiven him and rendered worthless your deeds
Jundub ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man said: 'By Allah, Allah will not forgive so-and-so.' Thereupon, Allah said: 'Who is that who swears that I will not forgive so-and-so? Indeed, I have forgiven him and rendered worthless your deeds.'" In a similar Hadīth reported by Abu Hurayrah: ''The sayer was a worshiper.'' Abu Hurayrah said: ''He said a word that ruined his life and Hereafter.’'
One may utter a word thoughtlessly and, as a result of this, he will fall down into Hellfire for a distance greater than the distance between the east and the west
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One may utter a word thoughtlessly and, as a result of this, he will fall down into Hellfire for a distance greater than the distance between the east and the west."
I said: O Messenger of Allah, what is salvation? He said: "Control your tongue, abide in your house, and weep over your sin
‘Uqbah ibn ‘Āmir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I said: O Messenger of Allah, what is salvation? He said: "Control your tongue, abide in your house, and weep over your sin."
There is nothing heavier on the believer's scale on the Day of Judgment than good morals. Indeed, Allah detests the one who is indecent and foulmouthed
Abu ad-Dardā’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is nothing heavier on the believer's scale on the Day of Judgment than good morals. Indeed, Allah detests the one who is indecent and foulmouthed."
It is one of the major sins when a man abuses his parents. It was asked: Would a man ever abuse his parents? He replied: Yes. He abuses the father of another man, who in return abuses his father, and he abuses his mother, and so the latter abuses the former’s mother
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Ās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is one of the major sins when a man abuses his parents." It was asked: "Would a man ever abuse his parents?" He replied: "Yes. Woe to him who speaks and tells lies so as to make people laugh thereby. Woe to him! Woe to him!
Mu‘awiyah ibn Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Woe to him who speaks and tells lies so as to make people laugh thereby. Woe to him! Woe to him!"
احرِصْ على ما يَنْفَعُكَ، واستَعِنْ بالله ولا تَعْجَزَنَّ، وإن أصابك شيءٌ فلا تَقُلْ: لو أنني فَعَلْتُ لكان كذا وكذا، ولكن قل: قَدَرُ الله، وما شاء فَعَلَ، فإن «لو» تَفْتَحُ عَمَلَ الشيطانِ
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه مرفوعاً: «احرِصْ على ما يَنْفَعُكَ، واستَعِنْ بالله ولا تَعْجَزَنَّ، وإن أصابك شيء فلا تقُلْ: لو أنني فعلت لكان كذا وكذا، ولكن قل: قَدَرُ الله، وما شاء فعل، فإن «لو» تفتح عمل الشيطان».
The most despicable name in the sight of Allah is that of a man named the King of kings. There is no king but Allah
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most despicable name in the sight of Allah is that of a man named the King of kings. There is no king but Allah." In another version: "The most wretched and most malicious person in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection and the one who will incur His wrath most will be the person who used to be called the King of kings, for there is no king but Allah." Sufyān said: “Like Shahenshah (meaning: the King of kings).”
Whoever swears by Al-Lāt and Al-‘Uzza should say: 'There is no god but Allah'. And whoever says to his companion 'Come and gamble with me' should give charity
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears by Al-Lāt and Al-‘Uzza should say: 'There is no god but Allah'. And whoever says to his companion 'Come and gamble with me' should give charity."
When a person curses something, the curse ascends to heaven and the gates of heaven are closed against it. Then it descends to earth and its gates are closed against it. Then it turns right and left and when it finds no exit it returns to what was cursed if it deserves to be cursed; otherwise it rebounds to the one who uttered it

Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not call a hypocrite a master, for if he is a master, you will have angered your Almighty Lord."
A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe, and a Muhājir (emigrant) is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe, and a Muhājir (emigrant) is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden."
“There are four (traits); whoever has them is a sheer hypocrite, and whoever has one trait of them has one of the traits of hypocrisy until he gives it up: whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous; whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; and whenever he is in a dispute, he behaves in a shameless immoral manner

A believer is not a slanderer, nor a curser, nor a person who speaks obscenely, nor a person who uses foul language
‘Abdullāh ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A believer is not a slanderer, nor a curser, nor a person who speaks obscenely, nor a person who uses foul language."
كان رجلان في بني إسرائيل متواخيين، فكان أحدهما يذنب، والآخر مجتهد في العبادة
«كَانَ رَجُلَانِ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُتَوَاخِيَيْنِ، فَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمَا يُذْنِبُ، وَالْآخَرُ مُجْتَهِدٌ فِي الْعِبَادَةِ*، فَكَانَ لَا يَزَالُ الْمُجْتَهِدُ يَرَى الْآخَرَ عَلَى الذَّنْبِ فَيَقُولُ: أَقْصِرْ، فَوَجَدَهُ يَوْمًا عَلَى ذَنْبٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَقْصِرْ، فَقَالَ: خَلِّنِي وَرَبِّي، أَبُعِثْتَ عَلَيَّ رَقِيبًا؟ فَقَالَ: وَاللَّهِ لَا يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَكَ، أَوْ لَا يُدْخِلُكَ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ، فَقَبَضَ أَرْوَاحَهُمَا، فَاجْتَمَعَا عِنْدَ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، فَقَالَ لِهَذَا الْمُجْتَهِدِ: أَكُنْتَ بِي عَالِمًا، أَوْ كُنْتَ عَلَى مَا فِي يَدِي قَادِرًا؟ وَقَالَ لِلْمُذْنِبِ: اذْهَبْ فَادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِي، وَقَالَ لِلْآخَرِ: اذْهَبُوا بِهِ إِلَى النَّارِ»، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَتَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ أَوْبَقَتْ دُنْيَاهُ وَآخِرَتَهُ.
When the son of Adam gets up in the morning, all of his body organs humble themselves before the tongue, and say: Fear Allah concerning us! For indeed, we are only as you are (our condition depends upon yours); if you are upright, we shall be upright, and if you are crooked, we shall be crooked
Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the son of Adam gets up in the morning, all of his body organs humble themselves before the tongue, and say: 'Fear Allah concerning us! For indeed, we are only as you are (our condition depends upon yours); if you are upright, we shall be upright, and if you are crooked, we shall be crooked.’"
A person may utter a word pleasing to Allah, the Almighty, without considering it of any significance, and because of it Allah raises his ranks; and a person may utter a word displeasing to Allah, the Almighty, without considering it of any significance, and because of it he sinks down into Hellfire
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person may utter a word pleasing to Allah, the Almighty, without considering it of any significance, and because of it Allah raises his ranks; and a person may utter a word displeasing to Allah, the Almighty, without considering it of any significance, and because of it he sinks down into Hellfire." Abu ‘Abdur-Rahmān Bilāl ibn al-Hārith al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person may utter a word pleasing to Allah, the Almighty, and he does not think it will yield such a result, and because of it Allah writes for him His pleasure until the Day he will meet Him; and a person may utter a word displeasing to Allah, the Almighty, and he does not think it will yield such a result, and because of it Allah writes for him His displeasure until the Day he will meet Him."
None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so he may do more good; or he is an evildoer, so he may give up evil deeds
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so he may do more good; or he is an evildoer, so he may give up evil deeds." In a narration, Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should wish for death, nor ask for it before it comes to him; for when any of you dies, his deeds stop, and the believer's life span only adds good to him."
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man praising another and exaggerating in his praise, whereupon he said: You have ruined - or cut - the man's back.
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man praising another and exaggerating in his praise, whereupon he said: ‘You have ruined - or cut - the man's back.
Woe unto you! You have cut the neck of your companion
Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and another man praised him. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Woe unto you! You have cut the neck of your companion,” repeating it several times. Then he said: “If one of you has to praise (another), let him say: ‘I reckon him to be as such and such' if he sees him to be like that, and Allah is the One Who will take account of him. No one can testify the purity of others against Allah."
It does not befit the truthful one to frequently curse others
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It does not befit the truthful person to frequently curse others."
Do not curse one another, invoking the curse of Allah or His wrath or the fire of Hell
Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not curse one another, invoking the curse of Allah or His wrath or the fire of Hell."
Unload it and set it free, for it is cursed
‘Imrān ibn al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) on one of his journeys, and there was a woman from the Ansār riding a she-camel. It annoyed her and so she invoked curse upon it. Hearing that, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Unload it and set it free, for it is cursed." It is as if I could still see it walking amongst people and no one trying to hold it.
Let the she-camel upon which curse has been invoked not accompany us
Abu Barzah Nadlah ibn ‘Ubayd al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: While a little girl was riding a she-camel that was carrying some of the people's luggage, she suddenly saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and the way of the mountain was narrow. She urged the she-camel to hurry, but it did not do so, so she said: "O Allah, let it be damned." Thereupon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let the she-camel upon which curse has been invoked not accompany us."
If a man says: People are ruined, he himself will be the most ruined among them all
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a man says: People are ruined, he himself will be the most ruined among them all."
When two people insult each other, the one who started will be the sinner until the oppressed exceeds the limits
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When two people insult each other, the one who started will be the sinner until the oppressed exceeds the limits (in retorting)."
Do not curse the fever, for it removes the sins of the children of Adam the same way the bellows remove the impurities of iron
Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) visited Umm As-Sā'ib (or Umm al-Musayyab) and asked her: "What ails you, O Umm As-Sā'ib (or Umm al-Mūsayyab)? You are shivering!" She replied: "It is the fever, may Allah not bless it!" He said to her: "Do not curse the fever, for it removes the sins of the children of Adam the same way the bellows remove the impurities of iron."
إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يكن ينام قبلها ولا يتحدث بعدها
عن عروة قال: سمعتني عائشة وأنا أتكلم بعد العشاء الآخرة، فقالت: يا عُرَي، ألا تُريح كاتبك، فإن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يكن ينام قبلها ولا يتحدث بعدها.
إن المؤمن يجاهد بسيفه ولسانه، والذي نفسي بيده لكأنما تَنضحونهم بالنبل
عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا تَرَى فِي الشِّعْرِ؟ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يُجَاهِدُ بِسَيْفِهِ وَلِسَانِهِ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَكَأَنَّمَا تَنْضَحُونَهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ».
Do not curse him, for by Allah, I know that he loves Allah and His Messenger
‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man at the time of the Prophet (ﷺ), whose name was ‘Abdullah and who was nicknamed Himār, used to make the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) laugh. The Prophet (ﷺ) had flogged him for drinking (intoxicants). One day, he was brought again, and the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that he be flogged. Then a man from among the people said: O Allah, curse him! How often is he brought? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Do not curse him, for by Allah, I know that he loves Allah and His Messenger."
لا تكثروا الضحك، فإن كثرة الضحك تميت القلب
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تُكْثِرُوا الضَّحِكَ، فَإِنَّ كَثْرَةَ الضَّحِكِ تُمِيتُ الْقَلْبَ».
وهل تَلِدُ الإبلَ إلا النُّوقُ
عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، احْمِلْنِي، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّا حَامِلُوكَ عَلَى وَلَدِ نَاقَةٍ»، قَالَ: وَمَا أَصْنَعُ بِوَلَدِ النَّاقَةِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَهَلْ تَلِدُ الْإِبِلَ إِلَّا النُّوقُ».
لأن يمتلئ جوف أحدكم قيحًا خيرٌ له من أن يمتلئ شعرًا
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا».
إن من الشعر حكمة
عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حِكْمَةً».
هل معك من شعر أمية بن أبي الصلت شيء؟
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: رَدِفْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا، فَقَالَ: «هَلْ مَعَكَ مِنْ شِعْرِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ شَيْءٌ؟» قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «هِيهْ» فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا، فَقَالَ: «هِيهْ» ثُمَّ أَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا، فَقَالَ: «هِيهْ» حَتَّى أَنْشَدْتُهُ مِائَةَ بَيْتٍ.
إن المؤمن يجاهد بسيفه ولسانه، والذي نفسي بيده، لكأن ما ترمونهم به نَضْحُ النَّبْلِ
عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ فِي الشِّعْرِ مَا أَنْزَلَ، فَقَالَ: "إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يُجَاهِدُ بِسَيْفِهِ وَلِسَانِهِ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَكَأَنَّ مَا تَرْمُونَهُمْ بِهِ نَضْحُ النَّبْلِ".
إن روح القدس لا يزال يؤيدك، ما نافحتَ عن الله ورسوله
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «اهْجُوا قُرَيْشًا، فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ رَشْقٍ بِالنَّبْلِ»، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى ابْنِ رَوَاحَةَ، فَقَالَ: «اهْجُهُمْ» فَهَجَاهُمْ فَلَمْ يُرْضِ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى حَسَّانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ حَسَّانُ: قَدْ آنَ لَكُمْ أَنْ تُرْسِلُوا إِلَى هَذَا الْأَسَدِ الضَّارِبِ بِذَنَبِهِ، ثُمَّ أَدْلَعَ لِسَانَهُ فَجَعَلَ يُحَرِّكُهُ، فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَأَفْرِيَنَّهُمْ بِلِسَانِي فَرْيَ الْأَدِيمِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَعْجَلْ، فَإِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَعْلَمُ قُرَيْشٍ بِأَنْسَابِهَا، وَإِنَّ لِي فِيهِمْ نَسَبًا، حَتَّى يُلَخِّصَ لَكَ نَسَبِي» فَأَتَاهُ حَسَّانُ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَدْ لَخَّصَ لِي نَسَبَكَ، وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَأَسُلَّنَّكَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا تُسَلُّ الشَّعْرَةُ مِنَ الْعَجِينِ. قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ لِحَسَّانَ: «إِنَّ رُوحَ الْقُدُسِ لَا يَزَالُ يُؤَيِّدُكَ، مَا نَافَحْتَ عَنِ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ»، وَقَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «هَجَاهُمْ حَسَّانُ فَشَفَى وَاشْتَفَى» قال حسان: هجوتَ محمَّدًا فأجبتُ عنه ... وعندَ الله في ذاك الجزاءُ هجوتَ محمَّدًا بَرًّا حنيفا ... رسولُ الله شيمتُه الوفاءُ فإنَّ أبي ووالدَه وعِرْضي ... لِعِرْضِ محمَّدٍ منكم وقاءُ ثَكِلْتُ بُنَيَّتِي إلم تَرَوها ... تُثِيرُ النَّقعَ من كَنَفَي كَداءِ يُبارِيْنَ الأَعِنَّةَ مُصْعِداتٍ ... على أكتافها الأَسَلُ الظِّماءُ تظلُّ جيادُنا مُتَمَطِّراتٌ ... تُلَطِّمُهُنَّ بالخمرِ النساءُ فإن أعرضتُمُو عنَّا اعتمرنا ... وكان الفتح وانكشف الغطاءُ وإلا فاصبروا لِضِراب يومٍ ... يُعِزُّ اللهُ فيه مَن يشاءُ وقال الله: قد أرسلت عبدًا ... يقولُ الحقَّ ليس به خفاء وقال الله: قد يَسَّرْتُ جُندًا ... همُ الأنصار عُرْضَتُها اللِّقاءُ لنا في كلِّ يومٍ من مَعَدٍّ ... سبابٌ أو قتالٌ أو هجاءُ فمَنْ يهجو رسولَ الله منكم ... ويمدحُهُ وينصرُهُ سواءُ؟ وجبريلٌ رسولُ الله فينا ... وروحُ القُدْسِ ليس له كِفَاءُ.
Do not curse the rooster, for indeed it awakens (people) for prayer
Zayd ibn Khālid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said: "Do not curse the rooster, for indeed it awakens (people) for prayer."
سلوني عما شئتم
عن أبي موسى، قال: سئل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن أشياء كرهها، فلما أكثر عليه غضب، ثم قال للناس: «سلوني عما شئتم» قال رجل: من أبي؟ قال: «أبوك حذافة» فقام آخر فقال: من أبي يا رسول الله؟ فقال: «أبوك سالم مولى شيبة» فلما رأى عمر ما في وجهه قال: يا رسول الله، إنا نتوب إلى الله عز وجل.
لا يقص على الناس إلا أمير أو مأمور أو مراء
عن عبد الله بن عمرو أن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال: "لا يقص على الناس إلا أمير أو مأمور أو مراء".
لا يقص إلا أمير أو مأمور أو مختال
عن عوف بن مالك الأشجعي قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: "لا يقص إلا أمير أو مأمور أو مختال".
لا يقل أحدكم: اسق ربك، أطعم ربك، وضئ ربك، ولا يقل أحدكم: ربي، وليقل: سيدي مولاي
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لاَ يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ: أَطْعِمْ رَبَّكَ، وَضِّئْ رَبَّكَ، اسْقِ رَبَّكَ، وَلْيَقُلْ: سَيِّدِي مَوْلاَيَ، وَلاَ يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ: عَبْدِي، أَمَتِي، وَلْيَقُلْ: فَتَايَ وَفَتَاتِي وَغُلاَمِي».
أصدق كلمة قالها شاعر كلمة لبيد: ألا كل شيء ما خلا الله باطل
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَصْدَقُ كَلِمَةٍ قَالَهَا شَاعِرٌ كَلِمَةُ لَبِيدٍ: أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللهَ بَاطِلٌ وَكَادَ أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ».
إن من البيان لسحرا، أو: إن بعض البيان لسحر
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ المَشْرِقِ فَخَطَبَا، فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ لِبَيَانِهِمَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِنَّ مِنَ البَيَانِ لَسِحْرًا، أَوْ: إِنَّ بَعْضَ البَيَانِ لَسِحْرٌ".
ويحك يا أنجشة، رويدك سوقًا بالقوارير
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ وَمَعَهُنَّ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ، فَقَالَ: «وَيْحَكَ يَا أَنْجَشَةُ، رُوَيْدَكَ سَوْقًا بِالقَوَارِيرِ» قَالَ أَبُو قِلاَبَةَ: فَتَكَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ لَوْ تَكَلَّمَ بِهَا بَعْضُكُمْ لَعِبْتُمُوهَا عَلَيْهِ، قَوْلُهُ: «سَوْقَكَ بِالقَوَارِيرِ».
لا يقولَنَّ أحدكم: خَبُثت نفسي، ولكن ليقل: لَقِسَت نفسي
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي، وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي».
لا يقولن أحدكم للعنب: الكَرْم، إنما الكَرْم الرجل المسلم
عَنْ أَبي هُرَيرةَ قال: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ لِلْعِنَبِ: الْكَرْمَ، إِنَّمَا الْكَرْمُ الرَّجُلُ الْمُسْلِمُ».
An oath is a means for selling a commodity and a means for destroying the profit
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: "An oath is a means for selling a commodity and a means for destroying the profit."
Any person who says to his brother: O disbeliever, it will, indeed, fall upon one of them; if he is as he said, or else it will return to him
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any person who says to his brother: O disbeliever, it will, indeed, fall upon one of them; if he is as he said, or else it will return to him."
Allah Almighty said: The son of Adam hurts Me by cursing time, while I am time. The matter is in My Hands, I alternate the night and the day
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty said: The son of Adam hurts Me by cursing time, while I am time. The matter is in My Hands, I alternate the night and the day."
